Its a 600mm f/4 weighs in at 11lb with the camera 14 or 15 lb.

I think thats exactly what he wants... How much did you pay for it ??

And what uses do you have.. His is surf photography so fast and long distance = lots of light.

Too much! But its a great lens - if I was a pro I would find it very hard to justify thius lens, I would have to sell a ton of photos to make ny money back.

Shooting down enemy aircraft! More seriously, wildlife and sports - I hope it will come to its own when I got to Beijing Olympics next year.

Thanks, one of the down sides of being into photography and living in Hong Kong, is there are always things that you convince yourself you must have.

They come in at around 5k, give or take, and if you want a filter it's an extra £200!!!

Well I can understand 5k in the UK when you add VAT, etc but 200 squid fror a filter, they are having a laff - it uses drop in filters 58mm IIRC even a circular polariser shouldn't be more than 100 quid.
