Does anyone remember Bush? (The band, not the President). One fabulous album with every track a winner, then they just faded into oblivion!

How about Sublime? If Bradley Noll hadn't have OD'd, I think they would have been one of the all-time great pop bands. They had great tunes too numerous to mention!! Their verson of "Summertime" was possibly the best ever, and probably should be on my Best 5 list, somewhere near the top!!

I guess I'll have to do a second five!

Sublime - Summertime

Otis Redding - Try a Little Tenderness

Stevie Nicks - Dreams

Jeff Beck(w/ Rod Stewart) - Plynth

Percy Sledge - When a Man Loves a Woman

Also, my choices for best instrumentals:

Earle Hagen - Harlem Nocturne

Jeff Beck - Cause We've Ended As Lovers

Charlie Parker - Dexterity

The Tornadoes - Telstar

The Ventures - Piipeline

Miles Davis - So What

Good thread Jonny,I've only just stumbled on it

I have been buying music since 1959 with money from my paper round ,so 5 favourites is a big ask.

But at a push I would pick these, then change my mind later

1 Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd
2 Clocks (A white label dance remix not on general release) - Coldplay
3 Jesus to a Child - George Michael.
4 Insomnia - Faithless
5 Woman - John Lennon

I may even pick 5 more tomorrow
