Depends on the country.. Depends on the girl..

My brother got a visa on a girl he had met that vacation.. Tho he had taken a previous girl to the country before and all regs obeyed..

If she had travelled before it is usually MUCH easier.. If she has material things and business in Thailand, kids etc its easier, lots and lots of variables..

Also a text editor can make emails look like they date back over many months very easily..

Should i really save all the personal and intimate emails to get a visa for my girl?does the embassy have a look on it? what about the phone calls? i allways take a pre-paid card so the calls doesn´t appear at my bill.what about the story? "met my girl in the bar, BF her and shagged her some nights and felt in love. no sir, she´s no prostitute. my brain is what?where?""? i think they are not stupid and know well where most of us meet the girls.

Please do a search and read up on visa Q's many been answered before. If for Australia then probably like the UK is hard embassy to please - so 6 months would be cutting it fine. Good luck mate.

Yes, if they ask you or her where you met, you should tell them you met in a bar. In most europeen countries prostitution is not a crime and the worst thing you do is to tell a lie. I told the norwegian embassy how we met and they had no problems with that.

Frode you are right that prostitution is no crime anymore, even in germany where i am from it become now an official profession, but they are still worried about that girls coming from outside europe for doing this job here. and that it would be the reason why they want a visa. so you have to be careful not to look like her pimp.
and i am not sure if you go i.e. with your girl to the embassy and you tell them what her job was before she will be ashamed or not?
i am not sure but imho it maybe better to wait some time to give her a longer history of normal life, as they donīt ask for the last 10 years or so.but how long is long.? nobody wantīs to wait 2 or 3 years and sponering her that way.
i think its still difficult and a very sensitive topic for both, him and her.
and its for every country different. i am thinking about to move to netherland as it maybe easier than here. has any of our dutch members experiences like this?

It says in his profile that Hutchy07 is from Australia - dont think telling them she was/is a BG will get her a visa.

Dear K2

hutchy07 didn't ask what to tell the embassy, shark1963 did.
He is from Germany, and last time I checked, Germany was still in Europe.
I will now answer him again so I don't make any misconceptions;

If you and your TGF want to apply for a tourist-visa to the Schengen-area for her, it is my opinion that you should not tell any lies in the invitation-letter you have to enclose the application.

I don't say that you have to tell them that your TGF is a former prostitute, but if they ask, you should not lie. Like you wrote yourself; "I think they are not stupid and know well where most of us meet the girls".

It is up to you to make an application the embassy will believe in and understand that this girl is not going to Germany to continue her business.

This worked out well for me and my Tee-Rak, and I think it will do the same for you if this is your intention.

But as alredy said in this thread; Depends on the country.. Depends on the girl..

Good luck for you!

Frode

thanks frode, i think there will be a long way for it. have to look whatīs coming up and what are problems especially for germany. i try to go to LOS in april and it might be a good idea to visit the german embassy so asking them what they all want to know and what paperwork will be needed. for me its not a problem telling the truth, but i wooried once said it clear theres no way back if they decide then against a visa. so then see me as the next thai expat.
but there are more worse places in the world to live than LOS

Exactly right, once you say something there is no taking it back. Be selective with the truth is my experience

Hei Shark!

I don't say that I have all the answers regarding visa-applications, but I have at least just done it myself.
My TGF got a tourist-visa to the Schengen-area and that means she could stay (90 days) not only in Norway, but in all the countries in this area, including Germany. The requirements to get a visa are the same no matter where you want to go among the Schengen-countries or what embassy you have to apply to.

One of the reasons that a few europeen countries are not a member of "Schengen" is that they think the immigration-policy is too liberated.
Most of the stories you hear about girls beeing refused a visa are linked to the following countries; US, UK, Irland and Australia.
You can see on this board, where do most of the guys come from (at least the ones you observe most), and they also tell stories they have heard, mostly from their own countries.
Think about this; How often do you hear about girls beeing refused a visa to other countries than US, UK, Irland or Australia? And I mean refused because of her as a person or her past. Not many times, I think.

It's should not be difficult for your girl to get a tourist-visa to the Schengen-area if you have a job, your own place to live, some kind of relationship with the girl (at least more than one night) and you have sent with her all the requested documents and a serious/honest application.

My Tee-Rak went alone to Bangkok with all the the documents (we did not use an agency), did the interview and got her visa 5 days later. I was home in Norway and phoned the embassy one time just to hear that everything was ok. Several guy's I have spoken to did it the same way with no problems. Why should it be more difficult for other's who only have good intentions?

The reason I have for writing this is that most of the information and the stories regarding visa-applications comes from the countries I have mentioned above, and then people from the rest of the world think it will be that hard for them too.
But not all countries say yes to all "financial-refugees", and when their own citizens want to take their Tee-Rak for a holiday they say no.

This is my opinion, and all other's are free to have their. No matter where you come from guy's!

Frode
