It has in my opinion swung from just about right to a bit overdone lately..
Not a big deal and its a tough balance but things like politics or anything that 'might' cause friction seems too much to me.. Still a bit confused on the details of the gary thing also.. I get the feeling there must have been more to it.

I don't have a problem with the moderators. I have a bit of a sarcastic sense of humour and sometimes cross the line a little. When I do I understand if I get moderated, and then I pm the bm I may have been taking the piss out of. To be honest, I don't take anything to seriously and try to joke about things, sometimes a little too much.
I voted that the moderation was just about right but I think you're wankers too, but nice wankers.

Is there moderation in this forum? LOL I couldn't have guessed. I am here to meet friends and gather information. Are there information that i am not supposed to have? Am i allowed to make new friends? So far everyhting seems to be ok as i do not notice any moderation...maybe it is because i am 'high' or drunk most of the time or had just woken up from my deep sleep? 555555 Keep up the good work moderators!

What few posts I do, I try not to swear (or just mispell the words) unless really peeved, (see my post ref Songkhran.) I personally think that the moderators do a really hard job - just you try reading all the posts to check for abuse etc.

I've had posts moderated , usually for overstepping the mark , but when I've cooled down I realise that there was good reason for the post "disappearing".
Haven't had any PM telling me why , no need as it was obvious. Have no problem and respect the Mods right to keep the forum running smoothly. PS . Mine's is the bottom vote , because I'd hate them to think everyone loves them.

No problems
I have no problems with the way the board is moderated.Some things have to be toned down and a referee is needed in some cases.For my case if I don't like the way a guy posts I just ignore him and send nothing on to his thread.

 Seriously, I don't think that overmoderated is the right word. I just think that the forum is too big now and that what makes it hard to moderate it  . At the beginning, it was just a forum dedicated to Phuket with a general and a nightlife section. Then the accomodation section was added and that was a great idea. Now, I think that it covers too many topics and sometimes, it's not clear for us to understand the rules (i.e. some topics can be posted in the News section but not in the poll section; politics is allowed but not allowed  ). It also makes me the impression that moderators are sometimes lost or confused when decisions are made to delete posts.Anyway, this forum is great and such discussions helps to improve it and keep it alive.

I stand by my previous statement. I believe that the board's moderation is a little harsh lately. But still even tho i believe a few subjects should be allowed. I think the moderators is doing a good job.

I have no problem with the style of moderation on the board..........sure I wonder about what possible effect having a conversation on the board about Thaksin is going to have in the larger scheme of things but what the heh!.......it would be crap to have the board shut down because of it............. or bring pressure on Nicke and his business in any way.........sometimes practicality sucks!........but that's the way of the world
I do wonder too about the Garybar thing..he seems to have spat the dummy over something that I missed..........has he deleted all of his own posts or has it been done by the moderaters???? I try to self moderate either before writing or a quick edit shortly after writing but occasionally I have said the odd thing I regret.....but we all do that in all walks of life.......we just need to pick up and move on.....apologise if you can...but move on! Basically at the end of the day it's just a conversation board and with the minimal amount of moderating I see done I don't see what all of the fuss is about.......... Would I become a moderator........no way.........it's a thankless task....and I thank those of you who have taken it on

Like any job done for free for a community, there are always going to be people who don't like the way you do the job. I, for one, appreciate the job you guys are doing - keep up the good work! I wish I had the spare time you guys must have.
And yes, I have had a post deleted, but there was good reason for it. Since it was not obviously offensive, the mod dropped me a PM explaining why it was deleted and I have no problem with that at all.
