What's your favourite nightlife area in Bangkok?

Just a poll to check the popularity of the 3 main entertainment areas in Bangkok (Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy and Patpong).

To say that you covered with this poll the main entertainment areas is a bit short.... Maybe rephrase to the 3 main farang naughty nightlife districts covers it better.

But, I voted for SC in this listing with the choices offered.

I'm all Nana, but that's because I usually stay across the street.

Might have to visit Cowboy again, in a mild protest that they took the Burger Lady out of NEP. Or, at least she was gone in July.

I myself like all three but for different reasons:

1) Soi Cowboy for girls and laid back atmosphere
2)NEP for girls and the late night parking lot
3)Patpong for the shows and the shopping, not too much the women

I like the club scene the best......and if I had to pick between them I would probably go for CM2 nightclub in the Novotel Siam Square.......

There are better nightclubs such as Q, Bed + Supper, Narcisus etc......and there are better FL pick up joints like Angels etc.....but for me CM2 has a pretty good mix of Thai + Farang and FL and non FL and maintains a pretty MOR club atmosphere....the music could be better.....without being an obvious knocking shop......

gogos are strictly for hanging out with a group of mates and having a drink + bit of fun for me.....I would never think of trying to pick up in one....

I must admit that I hang out most of the times in Nana Plaza but I think that Patpong is far ahead now. Nana was popular but since a few years, the place is run down and quite desert. And now that Woodstock is gone, my interest for the place is low, although I enjoy drinking at some places.
Patpong is always crowded. I like Kangaroo, an upstairs bj bar. The ambiance there is really different from Lolitas.
I've never been a fan of Soi Cowboy, although Long Gun is one of my favourite bars.

Nana !

Hi all . . .

When I am I Bangkok, I usually stay at a rather grotty Hotel called 'World Inn', in Soi 7, Sukumvit. Opposite the Eden Club. Just a short stroll along to Nana Plaza.

Nana Plaza, to me is the ultimate in sleeze. This must be why I am in my element!

cheers

Well my first visit to Bangkok was by ship and we all ended up on the first night in Patpong. Had a brilliant time, totally and utterly ripped off, well dodgy shows, seedy as hell, stank of god knows what, full of good lookin' girls, cheap booze bought by the bottle (Dark Rum) Fish restaurants, Dwan (Oh how I miss Dwan) It was a little bit dangerous, covered in the girls pin on number badges like little blue medals and being chased by bouncers, very few if any tourist police, good street stalls and Short time hotels with stamp size grey towels and coin operated aircons..........Tuk Tuk back to the ship...............Brilliant.

Must admit to not even making it down there on my more recent visits. I may try to stick my head in the next trip over.....................I know what I said and I am just waiting.................

Although there is a hell of alot more places I would say are a favourite in Bangkok these days, plus I can't run as fast!

I had heard a lot about Soi Cowboy, when i went there i thought it was highly overrated. I lived in Patpong for a month above one of those day short time places. I still go back to say hello to the girls there so it is usually Patpong for me. Nana is interesting, i like to walk around the upper floors and see what "creatures" are on the prowl.

I read on a travel magazine that the Nana hotel should be avoided coz the place crawls with street working girls hahaha... Since I'm not picky I don't think I'll mind it at all I hope soi cawboy and Nana plaza are no too far apart coz i want try both. Nevertheless it seems like Nana area is huge... I thought it was like Bangla road but it seems alot bigger.

Nana and Soi Cowboy is a hefty (10 minutes) walk apart, but only one stop (10 baht) on the sky train.

Nana Entertainment Plaza in it self is not that big. It is three stories and about 6-8 (mainly) a-go-go's on each floor. Add to that Sukhumvit road and all the sois, then you have a big area, but much different than Bangla.

If soi cawboy and nana are just 10 minutes apart then I guess I'll be able to experience both huuuu... Probably I'll have to sacrifice Patts but at least I'll furfill 1 of my 2 new years resolutions 5555

Got to say it was Nana for me, I visited SC and Patpong on my last trip but I seemed to be drawn back like a magnet to Nana.

I suppose it's not so much the Gogo's there, it's the nana disco and carpark late at night that capivates me. The place is heaving with girls , you can sit back have a few beers and watch, or dive in.

The noise, the smell - the utimate in sleeze.........I love it!!

I like Soi Cowboy the best because it has the most laid back feel to me. Cool little clubs where lots of fun can be had in a nice relaxed environment. I just wish it had 2 sois like Patpong instead of just one.

NEP is cool , but it feels kind of claustrophopic to me. Only one way in & out, which makes it a little uncomfortable for me to move from bar to bar weighing in on my options for the night.

As far as Patpong goes, I have had some of my greatest times on these sois. Other the other hand, it definitely has it's share of shady individuals lurking about just waiting to lure a newbie into some type of scam. I also hate all the taxi guys waiting on the outskirts trying to overcharge you. With all that being said, the place certainly comes alive at night and is worth a visit per trip imo.
