Just having a discussion at work about the cost of pay TV in OZ. Curious to know what you other guys are paying and how many channels you get.

Australia - THB2835 (AUD$99.95) p/m with 77 channels
Canada - THB2750 (CAD$85) p/m with 75 channels
Denmark - THB1000 p/m with 45 channels
Hong Kong - THB2000 (HKD400) p/m with 50 channels + 1.5Mb broadband internet
New Zealand - THB1200 p/m with 40 channels
US - THB2200 (USD$60) p/m with 95 channels

I am paying AUD$99.95 per month which gives me 77 channels

l pay $90.35 Steve.......not sure how many channels l have....yours must be more expensive bcoz u have the porn channel

I'm on the second tier one Steve........l don't get Movie 1 or 2....just Showtime Movies......miss out on a few other channels here and there as well.

For the extra $9 I get everything, although sometimes not worth the effort. Looking forward to the new SciFi channel next month.

I am paying HKD400 (THB<2,000) and I get about 50 channels and a 1.5M broadband connextion.

US$60 (2,200 baht) gets you all basic stations available in US, and HBO (one channel). 95+ channels altogether, but most channels are shite I never watch.

I can upgrade for another US$35 (1,300 baht), and get multiple HBO, SHO, Cinemax, and StarZ channels (i.e 16-20 more movie channels). And then there are all the packages in between.

This is cable though. Country specific international channels can be had for about $25 per month, but you need sat. With sat you can get anything you want for a price. MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL... all the games of your fav team.

Porno is pretty much per showing. $5 to $8, IIRC.

Dont really watch much TV.. But the one thing I would happily pay for is HiDef..

Natural history Docus in HD.. Sport in HD.. Anything.

I pay about $85/month for about 75 channels. Thing is I only watch the 13 high def channels but you have to have a certain amount of channels to be able to get the high def...

same as stevem in OZ.............and about 1200bht in NZ for 40 channels......which is the max.......I'd still prefer just to have the free to air + all sports + streamed movies + docos on demand......can't stand the way they package them...ends up with 30 channels of shi'ite

My Sky package costs £43 a month, 3000baht? I get sport and movies for that, I like the discovery channels and some of the travel ones. Beyond that there is a hundred channels of rubbish.

Here in The Hague, cable TV package with 34 channels for € 16.50 per month. If you take their digital TV package you get an extra 30 channels or so for another € 7.50 per month.

I think we pay something like 63 euro for the same sky package so around the same price as u.k....

same here,,,not too bad really...although i think ive still to watch a single movie from start to finish!!excellent champions league though...

Im on a 10Mbit line with 50 TV channels. for around 2400Bath a month, also local area phone calls for free.

I've got a dish and pay $89 (approx 3000 THB) get something like 299 channels. I can watch the View for 6 hrs a day....
