Who's your favourite James Bond?
I saw recently "The man with the golden gun" which make me recall of my trip to James Bond's Island. By the way, who is your favourite actor who played this role?
Sean Connery
George Lazenby
Roger Moore
Timothy Dalton
Pierce Brosnan
Daniel Craig
I don't include David Niven who played the original role as it's not an "official" film produced by EON.
I haven't seen Casino Royale with Daniel Craig so my vote goes for Roger Moore who really fits the character with his typical sense of humour.
1. Roger Moore
2. Timothy Dalton
3. Sean Connery

Good Thread!
Roger Moore has to have been the best bond! The Movies he was in were the funniest and Silliest IMO...
You don't see characters anymore like Jaws, Oddjob, and of course Nick Nack, the wee fella that was in The man with the golden gun... Great shows when you were a kid! I could still watch them and piss myself laughing!
The women were something else too! Brit Eckland on a Thai Island... A cinematic masterpiece!
Nick Nack ala "I swear I'll kill you mister Bond!"

Sean Connery (Simply IS Bond)
Brosnan (Great for the role IMHO, but had bad films made for him)
Craig (Hard to say with only one title.. He is certainly a grittier more real Bond, has potential to be second if you count movies as a whole).
As for Roger (the Eyebrow) Moore.. I can stand him.. Way too cheezy, way too hammy.. I hate those "weeeeell.. Hello Mrs Funny Fanny" groan lines.
Will say this tho, they sure dressed Bond better in the older movies. I dont know if it was purposefully part of the 'young not yet suave Bond' but craig looked like he shopped at Top man, when he did get suited for the Casino scene he looked really uncomfortable in it.. Moore in the Golden gun was on recently and was Saville row all the way, Bespoke tailoring even when in non formal clothes.. Craig needs to cut a bit more of a dash..

Sean Connery gets my vote and I think will come top in this poll by a wide margin. Pierce Brosnan comes second but still think his best movie was the remake of The Thomas Crown Affair (1999). Roger Moore, i still think he's The Saint more than Bond . Dalton was a useless Bond. Lazenby never had a chance.
Not seen the New Bond yet .. going Friday.. but all reports say he's has potential to be the Best Bond ever.

Can see what you mean about Brosnan but he did have the charisma and charm needed.. Thats where I do think Craig is let down, he doesnt have the million dollar smile.. He does have the tough, gritty side tho..
For Brosnan 'After the Sunset' recently was an enjoyable twisty one.. And I laughed my ass off at the Matador.. He seems able to not take himself too seriously..

As an Aussie I am pained to admit George Lazenby was definitely the worst!

Wasn't there another actor who played Bond?
He was in the original american TV Movie version of CAsino Royale! Thats why it took so long for the Broccoli's to get the movie rights to the book as Fleming had sold them earlier! (Thus the Spoof version with Niven was made.)
My vote goes for Brosnan. Think that he was very good, and had it all, apart from the scripts. Though I do think that Goldeneye was a very good BOnd film, but that could be more to do with the N64 game I was addicted too.
I think Sean Bean was unfortunate never to get bond. I think he would of made a very good one. But of course he would have to lose the regional accent and maybe to closly associated with Sharpe to get the full role! Our kid did good in t'film Goldeneye though! Aye!

Barry Nelson played Bond in the 1954 CBS version.

There seems to be some issues about 'official' Bonds and unofficial Bonds..
Like the first Casino Royale is not an official Bond..

Seems bizarrely Never say Never Again is not considered an official Bond..

The other one is "Never Say Never Again" , the 'official' ones were produced by EON.

1) Sean Connery
2) Roger Moore
3) Pierce Brosnan
I think Sean Connery set the standards for Bond, And will always be considered No1 and rightly so.. But my favourite bond movies were the ones with Roger Moore, Like Pad Mac said they had all the best villians, And closely behind is Pierce Brosnan who was a perfect bond IMO.. But as so many have said the films themselves let him down!!

I seem to remember that 'real Bond'ies' don't consider Moonraker to be a proper one either, as it is said to be a re-hash of the script for Thunderball.
But what do I know, i voted for P.B.

That was "Never Say Never Again"
Quote:
Being a remake of Thunderball, Never Say Never Again follows a similar plotline to the earlier film and novel, but with some differences.
