Sexual Health Checks
How many BMs have regular sexual health (HIV,syphillis, gonorheah, throat/urethral swabs, urine tests etc.) checks?
Do you..
1) get checked out three months after every trip?
2) get checked once per year?
3) only when worried (condom broke, took a risk with BB)?
4) only when problem is apparent (discharges, pus, lesions apprent etc.)?
5) never... not even if my **** drops off and runs out the door?
...?
Also, are these tests available in your country free and confidential (as in UK)and would the free and confidential vs pay or having to go through your familty doctor affect your decision to get checked out?
Just curious about responsibility and risk management...
Cheers,
K.

Used to do it every 3 months.. Currently been a year (but have had only minor slip ups outside of my relationship with someone whose health I trust) and need another one now due to a recent more foolish slip up..

only get them done if condom breaks or have unprotected sex.
always when starting new relationship ask partner to get aids test and std tests done before having unprotected sex, just to be on safe side.
I do the same for them also.

Yes get checked out all the time, Even before I start going to Los as I have managed to catch more than my fair share of std's from just normal girls who you would never expect, Another reason was because I never use to wear condoms
But since my 2 trips to Los so far I have not caught anything yet, Got my tests done for all std's only 2 weeks back and everything was clear thankfully but have to return for my final hiv test in 6wks time, So fingers crossed I will get the resulf im looking for

maybe you should stick to completely normal girls then? Those 2just normal" ones sound a bit borderline...
I think I'll make it a 6-monthly thing myself. I got the all clear a few weeks back but still have this recurrent sore throat and low-grade cold/flu symptoms - had them for a couple of years now, well before LOS but after Jamaica
The experience was not as bad as might have been feared. Although St Mary's GUM clinic (in an overgrown portacabin, turn-up-and-queue-for-days system) is pretty dismal, the clinic at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital operates an appointment system, it's still a full day out, but at least you get to sit down and wait (take a book). The staff are quite professional and non-judgemental. The second urethral swab was a bit brutal - more like a biposy As I gave the urine sample I thought, "there'll be blood in that" and sure enough there was they shouldn't let female nurse do those swabs - no empathy
Cheers,
K.

Chlamydia swab

Tyfon, you're right about the swab! I had chlamydia and it wasn't really bothering me but that swab felt as if she had snipped a chunk out of my urethra! There was no blood in my sample after the swab but there was a bit of something floating around in it. Probably part of the lining of my ripped and torn urethra! I believe my local GUM clinic now uses a new urine test that makes the swab redundant.
I have had to go for the 3 month check in accordance with scenario 3 above. Not because of a broken condom but because of giving in to the temptation with a LLT girl to go BB. It seems easy to resist the temptation for a few days but then familiarity and complacency set in.
I am determined to try harder next visit but in the meantime I am keeping my fingers crossed for my forthcoming test at the end of next month.
Incidentally, I have never had a condom break but I find they tend to be a little short and I recently had one come off and she had to retrieve it with her fingers. They seem to be ok for girth, just a little short in length and I think I am about 'average' size.

That swab can be brutal..
I caught a dose when I was still only about 15 (had to tell my parents and get my mum to drive me to the clinic.. Shame !!!) and it felt like she was coring an apple !!!!

my last trip i got a cut on my di** becasue i was walking around in my swimming trunks for about 14 hours a day and didnt rip out that stupid mesh lining. one of the girl was gonna bl** me but i didnt let her because i had the cut. and believe it or not, i was actually thinking of her safety and mine. when i was younger i would of never thought about anyone elses safety, selfish bastard, but as i get older i like to gte checked for the both of us. imagine if you passed something fatal to someone you cared for.

I have never been tested and I don't use condoms. One of the girls I had sex with was tested after I had sex with her and she tested positive for gonorrhea and everything else was negative. I guess that explains why it burns when I pee and my penis leaks like a bad faucet.

You have got that wrong Tyfon.
99% of men like to ''think'' they are above average. That's the true statistic.

got treated by my own GP, there's a 6 week waiting list at the local GUM clinic

I'll start my tests just after the holidays, and there is only one test I really care about and unfortunatelly I have to wait like 10 more weeks, Ok Herpes is not nice and you get stuck with it for life but at least it's not deadly. After reading the swab thingie I'll think twice about doing that test... So far everything is cool and I have a sore throat but so does half of the populaion here since it's "flu and cold" season... I don't know if it's newbie behaviour or simply my personality but I don't think I have ever been so stressed in my life to the extent that my puls is 15% higher than normal... I just can't wait to complete all the tests and get the results...

cant believe reading this. not only in LOS you can get HIV but what does the tests make sense if you donīt use condoms? Do you wait for the next sex until you have the result?
Thatīs not funny at all

Well thats very unfortunate for those two guys..........but I would say that std's among bg's in phuket would be very very high indeed

Who said it was funny?
You can catch Hiv everywhere?
Yes, On my first tour I slipped up more than once with the condoms, Second tour the same, On both occasions I got checked as soon as I came home, And on both occasions my results came back all clear, And I never shaged another bird until they came back, Satisfied?
This tour I used condoms nearly all the time, Slipped up once one night with one girl, And twice with another girl I know a long time, Other than that it was condoms all the way.
By the way, If you think thats bad, I knows loads of BMs on here who dont wear condoms at all and rarely get tested, And loads more who slip up from time to time like me.
