How much beer......
 Time for a little poll:
It is interesting how much beer/cocktails you drink in a day in LOS. You have to add all alcohol drinks – not the non alcoholics like water.
Because here are some strong “drinkers” I make the scale
from 0 to 5 (for drinker like Tarzan)
from 6 to 10 (for the normal people)
from 11 to 15 (for the thirsty people)
and more than 15 (for drinker like Geespot)
It must be interesting for the bar owners who is a “good guest”?

Warning to Nicke
I've already told Nicke that I'm not much of a drinker, but he said I'm welcome at the bar anyway
At home I drink Guinness, and anything more than 5 pints is a heavy night for me I don't fancy a drinking competition with diz

I would say I am in the normal range, but go up to the thirsty range when Nicke starts ringing that bell, or don't nam dams count?

Well i would be in the 15 + range but thats including shots, I do have at least 10 different types of shots a night, And would easily drink more than 10 bottles in a night.
But its a different story at home though, I only drink once a week, If not every second week, And would normally drink about 12 bottles and thats it, No shots, So I dont think im that bad and certainly not in Gs league....Yet

Bloody hell Diz
Diz,
I thought I knew some drinkers and I've been around a bit - "Steady as a rock" after 17 pints of the 'Black Stuff' - Bloody hell mate.
I bet the Steward was balling his eyes out when you quit I only try and drink Guinness in Ireland (IMHO a totally different and better pint) but I only have to look at the stuff to put on weight.
We are on a Company inflicted two can rule out here, but they didn't stipulate how big the cans had to be. We are working on a new 20L jerry can complete with ring pull.
Plenty of bar owners won't agree with me Diz, but, I think you made the right decision mate.

Of course the dark stuff on the isle is better kept, better poured, and better taken care of but I have to say these widget cans are a godsend.. after years since Europe and maybe 8 or 10 since IRL thats a lot of Pats days to give up totally..
Your right about weight tho.. 5 or so pints of that is like a sunday roast... Feel like you have had a major feed..
Get the cravings if I dont for a while... Even will pay the 'Murphys' 250 baht pints when I have the hankering..

I always felt like a real lightweight when I was out with you, Paul!!
But upon reading the results of the survey, I feel a little more normal. I would guess that on a typical night I would have about 6, maybe 7 drinks of tequila mixed with whatever. When they would have a tequila shooters night at Baya Beach, then the count could go up considerably, but it is a rare night that I would go much over 10. Hanging out at MTB with Nicke and others pouring the Black Deaths would also be a night when the count could go to 10 or higher.
In the past 5 weeks or more, i haven't seen the inside of a bar and the only time I had a drink is when I went over to see my ex-niece at my ex's house. I took an excellent bottle of Clos du Bois Cabernet Sauvignon 2002(highly recommend it!). The ex cooked a fabulous meal, big steaks with salad, and lots of side dishes. Home-made apple pie with ice cream for dessert!! YUm, yum!!She is a great cook!! We finished off a bottle they had already opened when I got there. Then I broke out the Cab, but the ex begged off and went to bed without so much as a nip(typical, never much of a drinker). Jessica and I had a great time, and finished off the bottle, no problem.
But well before we were done, the ex kept waking up to peek in on us, and then she started in about how Jess had to get up in the morning. I promised I'd leave in an hour. When we finally finished the bottle, I thought about the other bottle in my car, but thought better of it. But when I tried to leave, Jess was hanging all over me. She was buzzed and liked my company(little wonder after spending the whole day with her Aunt)! She didn't really have to get up in the morning, either! And she is hot! Wow! Smokin'! A 23 yr old stunner! She was like, "Don't go-o-o-o! Stay awhile! I'm not going to sleep yet anyhow!" I was like, "I'd like to, but yer Aunt!" Jess says, "Oh, don't worry! I'm sure she's dead to the world by now!" Damn, it was tempting! But not worth risking peaceful relations with my ex! War with her is the last thing I need!!!
But it was great fun, anyhow!!!! Not every day I get to enjoy the delightful company of a 23 yr old stunner. She never stopped smilin' at me the whole time we were alone. Not that I would have done anything, mind you, but it was great fun flirting, and getting loaded together!!

I'm new to the forum but I really think that nam dams shouldn't count. After all it's just a wee dram of cough medicine to ward off the winter chill. I read nam dam is also being researched for it's ability to prevent bird flu and SARS in high enough doses.

I think I come into the 10-15 catagory when in the MTB
I can get about 7/8 bottles of beer down me then blow up.
A switch to few of the girly Bacardi Breezers helps the evening along and I can usually get back to the beer again.
I dont count Black Deaths and other shots as they are too small, but they do add to the morning hangover

On average I usually go for 3 or 4 breezers in the afternoon, 6 or 7 beers in the evening a few bacardi & cokes and a few shots of sambuca's with the girls,
Guess i might get over the 15 drink option.

Afternoon, beer. Evening, gin and Tonic. Later shots. Baileys in the room. And a hair of the dog for breakfast. Repeat

Drinking?????
I'll admit I've only been to LOS once, but it was the perfect drinking weather for me ...... hot and humid. The hotter it is, the more I tend to drink so 15 in a night wouldn't be a big stretch, and if I'm in the mood for a drink, then I can seriously damage the bank account. When I was there, I'd start with a few over lunch, a few more by the hotel pool, then 5 or 6 over dinner, then out for the night - but travelliung with my girlfriend I didn't get to indulge in the nightlife that much, but there's always next time.
When I go out here with the boys, it's beer for a warm up, after a dozen or so, it's onto the spirits and when I check the wallet the next morning it's usually around the $200 - $250 mark lighter. Thankfully I don't do it as often as I used to, but in the younger days it was every Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat night.

When i am in the uk i hardly ever drink alchohol as i am type 2 diabetic but when i am on holiday i go crazy in thailand i used to drink about 6 large beers daytime and at night about 8 singhas and maybe around 8-10 jack cokes or jamieson/cokes when i go home i was afraid to check my blood sugar for about 3 weeks 555555 but starting in my last holiday at xmas 2004 i began to cut out the alchahol in the daytime i succesfully managed to drink only water and diet coke during daylight hours and saved the boozing for nightime and when i came home to scotland i felt great and believe it or not when i went to the gogo bars in pattaya in daytime sessions i had just as good a time staying sober
I have read so much recently about the bad effects of too much booze, smoking and sex that i have decided to give up fuc-ing reading !

Everyone always says that alcoholism is a disease, but it's the only one you can get yelled at for having.
"Goddamn it, you are an alcoholic." "Goddamn it, you have Flu"...
one of those two doesn't sound right.
