Not at all, on the whole they are treated and act like girls. Whereas most Western Women want to go out on the beer, puke and piss on the pavement and try and fight blokes.
There are of course, as always - twats out there who treat them badly but I think that reflects on them rather than the rest of us.

i treat every tg i hang out with exactly like i do at home, which is with respect.
i will admit, however,w ith my 2 LT's, i have gotten lazy and let them do a little more domesticated things than usual.

heres my views
well begin with most men who first visit thailand are totall awe when they get there as they are getting tons of attention from what can only be described as the best looking women on the planet(all oriental) but i think that from others points of views thats where we start to see alot of guys coming quick with the sucky sucky 5 dollar talk bursting out i know i have had it from friends back home (England) and asking questions like is she a good lay ......i mean if i said that to an english guy about his english wife he would probably kick off.......but this is where the sudden slight drop of respect comes from when relating to an english guy and his oriental wife.
I mean i know guys married to girls from all kinds of poor countrys (mainly people i work with in the armed services where this is quite a common thing) and nothing is said about this yet the few guy's i know who are married to Phillipine girls are often snared at as guy's who have done a dial a bride option.......i just dont understand why the oriental's are shamed and the others from countrys who are not oriental do not seem to get this grief ............. oriental women who come to the uk and live with /marry english guys,get type-cast in this country,
everyone has to fit into a pigeon hole--everyone has to be labelled-. its the british way ! therefore- uk guy +thai wife = she must be a mail order bride/ex prostitute this attitude stinks but its the british mind-set this attitude may change in the future, as the country becomes less "white"and more diverse , with the massive influx of foreghn immigrants(imho!)

to be honest, and i hope i dont get flamed, i think you will get less prejudice in a smaller gap in your ages.
for instance, jason is 28, so i think he would get less stares than an older guy would. im 33, my ex-gf is 22. i think that would be pushing it a little bit. i wouldnt care.

Well I dont think they are treated like toys, And I also dont think they shamed at all really, I think Marc26 hit the nail on the head, Its an age thing not an Oriental thing...
If I walked down the road with an Oriental girl who was a similar age to me, Then I dont think I would get any dirty looks(Except from one or two bigots), Obviously you will always get other guys looking on enviously at you and your girl whether your walking with a European girl or and Asian girl, I do it aswell... But if I was say 45 and walking down the road with a 20 yr old, May she European/Asian whatever you will always get dirty looks, And peolpe will probably look upon you as a dirty old man, And sadly thats life... Obviously Asian women and Eastern European women get an extra bit of stigma attached to them due to the big pay4play scene's there... Me personally, I try and treat all women with respect regardless of race....

We get looked at, always have, and people feel that they have a right to comment. Not sure about 'toys' though.
Mixed race couples are unusual, goes with the territory.

i am asian and my wife (thai) comes over and stay with me several times a year and people are staring at us all the time.. in the mall, while walking, having dinner.... every man and woman alike.... i wonder why
 i dun understand and my wife would ask "what are they staring at?" i have no answer to that  my wife is 1 yr younger then me so i guess the age gap thing dun come in to play...

It's probably true Paul, But....Jeeezze, Have you checked out the 50'ish chick's in USA, or "anywhere", for that matter??? Why would a guy, my age (???, but still hannsum and deboner'), come to LOS looking for a "same aged" partner?? My current "squeeze", is twenty years younger than I. And, we seem to get around, in fine fashion. (except of course, the constant $$$ problems, 5555) If you recall, you and I, had a discussion (and some laughs), about this, one night in BKK. (some BM's thinking she's, a "bit too old".) Hell, to me...it's like "robbing a cradle"! Remember? As opposed to the 20'ish girls (who are really fine, also), at least I can carry on conversation, with my GF. (sometimes) Then again, language is always challenging. i think no matter where you go the will always be some small minded people .when tee rac was here not long back , i noticed we had quite a few side way looks and some people did come out with the sucky fcuky line ,but you have to ignore them,end of the day they are the ones either going home alone or to some fat ars-ed middle aged not very attractive wife or husband .
i would bet my last Baht that given the chance these same people would jump at the chance to be in my shoes. not that i could give a shit about them anyway.

I have been trying to learn Thai.
My g/f says that, in one way it is good however.... She is not too sure I would appreciate the comments of other Thais about us...Huge age gap etc. No-one ever says anything to my face but I know they say it to my g/f. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. I am too old, happy and comfortable to care!!!! Steve
