Situation dependant on applicant..
I have usually been issued them on the spot (collected at 4:30 at the wireless Rd embassy) but if you get caught up in interview process, review, evaluations etc it can not work at all..
Costs are nearly nothing if you dont use an agent.

agree with lil here.
some of these agents will charge a fortune and once your in the mebassy your no better of than the next person.
i suggest you do it all yourself ,collect all the evidence and paper work ,then present it in a folder along with the correct application forms and fee`s.
when tee rac went for her visa that is what we did.
mind you joining theque outside the embassy as 04:30am was a bit of a bind but well worth it .

wow man that will cost you a small fortune with an agent but best of luck to you .
i think you stand same chance if you do it all your self ,just remember to take everything with you ,even if you think its not needed take it , oh and copies lots of them .
i dont know if you have been in the embassy before but the are notices all over the place warning you about the agents etc.

I did it in 2001, so maybe things have changed, but I did use an agent and it was money well spent. I would never have even found the embassy on my own.
If I remember correctly it was 15 thou baht for their fee, not cheap but no big deal.

Hells teeth! 90 thou? Things have changed! To be honest, when I did it tourist visas were very unusual and the strike rate at interview (everyone got interviewed) was around 50-50. I think things are a lot easier now and judging by other BMs experiences I would not bother with an agent myself if I were to do it again.

i think it still is 50/50 on the success rate ,but i have heard that the eco`s are becoming slightly more liberal especially if you have lots and i mean lots of evidence to support your applications

Evidence you have been together. Evidence to show a need or desire to return to Thailand (kids dont seem to count much) like property or a job... History of communication.. Photos of you and her family (or her with yours if possible).. Any history of her travel abroad and visa compliance in the past..
Mostly they want to have it established that she will not overstay and dissappear into a Euro system..

They are interested in your finances as well, or were when I did it, proving you can afford to support her while she is in your country.

Probably not much hassle.. You are already outside of Thailand and she is obeying visa regs (presumably).. She has shown she travels.. Your an established couple with matching time together in other countries.. You only want a 2 week visa for visit..
Should be open and shut.. Mine like this needed no interview and simply done in a day.. A formaility..
