intro visas

Hi guys new to the forum so a brief intro first,
iam a bit of a thai veteran first discovered LOS in 01 and have spent every leave period there since (this is actually my first Xmas in UK since then and very grim it is too!!) Bit of advice for Jason about the visa situation dont be too worried about it the thing is to be honest and make sure the missus is too they can smell BS so do your homework before you get there you can download all the paperwork online.Make sure you arrive with everything you need(tax returns, photos, bank statements, phone bills letter from your family and employers are always good, proof of your housing situation in fact anything to bulk out the application remember bullshit baffles brains) feel free to use an agent i cant remember how much it cost but it wasnt a massive amount and it does speed up the process in that they will take you around town to get all the relavant paperwork signitures etc.Like i said first be honest the reason they are so stringent is to stop the girls being abused which iam sure most people think is a good thing. Also be honest with yourself when you go to wireless road you will see some hopeless cases blokes who have met a girl once the chances of them getting a visa are pretty slim (i will not say that this is right or wrong but you have to be realistic) Another thing to remember is that if you have all the paperwork you have answered all the questions already so for them its just a case of filling out the paperwork.Good luck mate easy for me to say but its really not that difficult if you do the groundwork first.
By the way i speak from experience we went through the same process in March and now we are happily settled in UK my only regret is that i didnt do it sooner absolutely no regrets (apart from the fact that my wretching days are over but i can live with that!)
good luck Mark
