so i was very interested in my question but no one answered it?
maybe no one knows? what causes someone with HIV to get sores? and why woudl they have sores one week and not the other, is it because they stopped medication?

Sores are simply skin infections that the body is not resisting.. Usually bacterial but another big one for HIV is fungal spores..
HIV seems to do something to the skin in the later stages, the girls I knew round town that have now died both got this kind of flat taut shiny skin when they were getting sick.. Now I see that kind of skin on someone and it freaks me out.. That may be anecdotal evidence but its what I have seen..

Being a Diabetic - is actually similar to being a HIV victim, due to the fact you are more prone to problems. I am in no way saying its as bad, just the complications are more common. Weaker immune system, means you are more susceptable to infections and problems.
I have quite a few cuts on my legs (due to motorbike) and it takes an eternity to heal. Anything where you get a cut or a sore takes forever to heal. E

I always find this kind of thread very interesting, as it is something that you could go on and on about. Life is short enough without taking any risks you dont have to. Whilst at work the other night I was talking with a workmate who comes from Africa. We began to discuss the very same issue and his basic response why should you wrap up ! Would you eat a sweet with the wrapper on. It takes away the sensation and fun.
I was completely shocked by his attitude. This in turn started a whole debate in our office (Not a busy night shift) I was left with the impression that people are happy to take a chance if the girl looks healthy. How did our sexual health awarness become so lax. I was completely shocked by the attitude of my african collegues who basically dont really think this is an important issue (These are senior local gov officers and well educated) I am glad to say that everyone of the female staff took this very seriously and took the idea of personal sexual health as a priority. I really do think prevention is better than cure.....not that there is a cure ! ! ! Education education education is surely the way to go. Bring back those public information adverts that scare the shite out of you. For those people who think that its a matter of personal choice, this is true. however the strain that is put upon the health care system in caring for people who have never given a thought to not only their sexual safety but that of every partner they have had could be better used. I dont want to come across as a sex nazi, but this time bomb is slowly exploding and it is destroying whole countries. Sub Saharan Africa is fcuked, if civil war or drought dont get you then HIV will. Its not just an African problem now its on the streets where you and your families live. Fcuking scary stuff.

From an earlier post - I said before, there are people who actually don't care one bit and even if they know they are HIV+ they will still shag everyone to get a so called "revenge" on the world. The mentality is, if I have it, well then you will have it as well.
It is common which makes it very very sad. E

HIV Does exist in Patong and nobody knows the real percentage of bg's that have hiv but would have to assume that the percentage would be much higher than that of a normal town due to the red light nature of patong.
I think if we knew how many bg's had hiv we would get the chills and think twice. Safest thing you can do is be safe and cover up!!!!!

Skin On Skin Off
As we are talking about all things SAFE. Where do you guys draw the line on condom use. I saw a post on the board awhile back about about condom use during oral sex.... I think it was something like BJ's with PJ's do any of you consider using a skin when getting smoked or do you consider the risk of catching anything too small to worry about. This subject has given me the shits so from now on I am wearing a wet suit and a divers helmet just to shake hands ! ! !
As the risk of catching shite is less when recieving oral does anyone just settle for that and not go the whole hog ? .........I guess two weeks of getting blown could be great. Very curious to hear what anyone has to say about this. As I have stated this thread has the power to make you stop and think and think and think.
