Yubiie! Going to LOS to see GF!
Just got the dates today! On September 5th. I'm flying back to LOS. It's now almost 3 weeks since to was there last time! Although if feels much longer.
It will be soo good to see her again, especially since we was told that the visitors visa we have applied for for her, would take 6-8 weeks to get approved (or disapproved ). Yes a fcuking visitors visa takes that long!
The downside is that I will only be there until September 10th. and that I will be having meetings in the office of my company's Bangkok office both Thursday and Friday (and proberly have to go out for dinner with them Thursday night too!).
But the company pays everything, so I'm still happy to get a chance to see her again!
Rgds,
Erk

That's nice SMF.. I'm sure you will have a good time with your gf.
Yeah the visas takes freaking ages these days.. I'm waiting on my 5th week for the visa for my wife.. Since I am leaving for Thailand on August 11th, and hope to take her home on August 27th they have better hurry...

Yeah, and I thought that the second time you applied it was quicker. Bono and I was in a bar in Copenhagen last Saturday where we met a Thai Girl. She said she had only been waiting 2 weeks, as it was her second visit to Denmark (to visit a "friend" - she worked in a beauty salon/spa in Bangkok - so I think we know what she really was doing in Denmark!!!).
Is there anything new with the family-reunion-application??
Rgds,
Erik

Nope still waiting on that one. I guess that if we are lucky we should have a reply on that in later september - early october. I did call them and ask about the progress a couple of times and their reply is "well we recieved the papers".. Basically they havent even started to look at it yet we applied on June 14th.. Lazy buggers.
As for the Visa I called the immigration department two days ago and asked to talk with the person handling our application. Got told she was on vacation and wouldnt be back until next week. Basically our visa had been on hold also so I asked the girl on the phone to get a senior office thingy to call me up. She called after 30 minutes and told me bla bla bla bla.. vacation..bla.bla..4-6 weeks processing...bla bla..
I did tell her that I was going to Thailand next friday and she did say she would look into our case but she couldnt guarantee anything..
Amazing that it is so difficult for them to process a simple Visa application. My wife did have a visa earlier (and adhered to the rules) and since she is my wife they basically cant say no. All they have to do is put a little stamp on it and then that's it.

Yes a nice start, not that it really came as a surprise, it was one of the reasons I took the job. On the same trip I will also be paying Hong Kong and Sydney a short visit of 2 days each. I've been to Hong Kong a few times before. I got the best massage ever in Hong Kong. I didn't really expect much, the place was very "clinical", but the girl was hot in her massuse uniform and although I had not "ordered" any extras, then I got everything (lot's of boom boom) and I ended up taking the girl with me back to my hotel room for the night (and up at 7 to get to the office) as I was her last customer that night. Hong Kong sure is a fun city too!
But yes, it was a great night in Copenhagen. We should check with the other Danes (or other BM's in Copenhagen and surroundings at the time) if they would like to join us. HEP? Jesper? And??
May I suggest August 25th or 26th.? I know it migth be when HEP is back in LOS for his wedding, but it's my first available weekend.
Rgds,
Erik

Yes it would be a good idea to meet with the BM´s from Denmark and have a night out and talk of our common passion ...I will leave Denmark the 1st September for my 6 months vaccation, and i´m pretty sure that the weekend 25-26 August i will be busy working..But lets see...Erik did you really reply for visa for your gf already?..How long have you knowing her?..Have a great trip to Bkk and enjoy.
Or maybe we could make a Scandinavian weekend and invite our friends from Sweden and Norway too to a weekend in Copenhagen...Than could be GREAT fun..

Hi Jesper,
I was not planning on making it an all weekend thing, just one night in the city either on the 25th or 26. And sure if any other BM's happen to be in the city or would come to the city, then they should be very welcome too! Even if they come from Norway or Sweden!
I've known my GF for 4 months now, but it wasn't until I came back in July, that it really said "click"! I wanted her from the first time I saw her, but there just always was other bargirls in the way! So yes, now last Monday she went to the Danish embassy to hand in her application for a visitors visa for 75 days. The embassy said now to wait 6-8 weeks to know if she can come or not! Some might think that it is very quickly to get her up here! And they are right, it is very quickly, but on the other hand I don't think you ever find out if she's the right person, unless you try living together in the normal (non-vacation mind) way of life. Otherwise you could "waste" years by just visiting each other. This way I will know much quicker!
rgds,
SMF

Yes i think you have to life with them for a while until you will know if it´s going to work out well, and again who knows...What is it about a visitor visa for 75 days??...Is it not a tourist visa for 90 days with the garunty for 52.000dkr? or have the changes that?
I did not mean that the weekend 25-26 should be the Scandinavian weekend...but in the future it could be fun to make a whole weekend in Copenhagen for all the Scandinavians BM´s .....All the best with the visa.
I hope that we will meet in LOS, will be there until march 2007

No nothing has changed. It has HEP who gave me the tips! The maximum you can get is a 90 days visa. But then you cannot get another visa the next 3 months. So if we (me and my GF) find out that we still like it and what her to stay in Denmark, then if we had spend all 90 days, then she would not be able to come back for 3 months. But now we can get married, she can go home, apply for a family visitor visa for 15 days. At the same time we can apply for "family-reunion" (permanent visa or familiesammenføring on Danish). She can then come to DK on the visitor visa, but since we have applied for the family-reunion, then she can stay until they have either approved or denied the reunion.
And as for the bank guarantee of 52000 dkk, then if we had got married whilst she was in Denmark the first time and had applied for the family-reunion when she was here, then I would have lost the 52000 dkk, as it was considered a breach in the visa rules. When she comes to Denmark on a family visitor visa you don't have to put up the bank guarantee, so I will not loose it when she just stays here.
And by the way, when I talked to the Danish Embassy in Bangkok, they told me that it wasn't even sure that I had to put up a bank guarantee, that was based on a case by case judgement, based on an evaluation of my income.
Yes the Danish visitors and imigration rules are not easy to understand, but thanks to HEP I didn't have to learn them all by myself!
Rgds,
Erik

Erik if you get married then your gf can come to Denmark for 90 days and you don´t have to put up a garuantee for her Only if she wants to stay here permanent. And if she want to take children with her.She can come same same when you go to Thailand she will have 90 days visa without no problem...But in the long run it might be easier to pay the parents to marry her.....Good luck

Yes you're right, but I really want to try to live with her first for a few months, before eventually go marry her. But even if we do get married, she can only get 90 days visa per every 6 month. So if we had used all 90 days, then she would not be able to come back with me, even if we had married and applied for the family reunion visa. She then would have to wait until they finished the case.
Rgds,
Erik

Sounds like a good idea, but "unfortunately" I am in LOS at that time. I leave on Friday the 11th, so only 4½ days more work and then off to paradise..
Furthermore.. Today my wife just recieved notice from the embassy in Bangkok that her visa has been approved, so she will come home to Denmark with me on the 27th.. Bloody fantastic! That means that she can stay here while they process the family reunion application so I am a happy camper!

hej erik
Hej erik
venligst

Hi B!
Maybe it's not such a good idea to write in Danish in this forum!
But thank, yes she's very sweet! The main issue is that the Danish government includes Thailand to the group of immigration countries. And that means that almost every application for a visitors visa will be handled by the Danish Immigration Services (Udlændingestyrelsen). And yes, there are a lot of information you must give them. You must be able to document how many times you have seen your girl friend, show pictures, bording card/flight tickets, telephone records, emails, letters etc. I recommend you that you coordinate your "story" with your girlfriend, as they will check her "story" against your. So things when and where you meet, how many times you have met before etc. Also remember that the same story must be used later if you want to apply for "family reunion visa". For the visitors visa, then you must put up a bank guarantee for DKK 52000 the first time you GF visits Denmark. But only the first time (unless the didn't leave DK on time the first time).
