If you want to find a normal Thai lady, stay out of Patong.

Again a waste of time, posting this. Boats and plane's will arrive, all with new falang, and they all believe after 6 days that "she is special", "not like the other", "she really cares about me". "she didn't ask me for one baht".

If you don't learn from history, then you are an idiot by definition.

I don't know you Burg and therefore do not make any judgment but you have just clocked up your 100th post and I havn't seem one of them yet where you have appeared to be happy, you live in thailand but appear to almost detest everything about the place, the people, the customs, I've concluded no one can be that unhappy without some major disaster in their life.

Can you not just start a thread on a subject you really like that makes you happy and then we can see a light hearted to side to you? and perhaps get some fun back into your posts.

Point taken Burg, but this was an honest thread started by a guy with good intentions and I have enjoyed it.

You could be right there Dodger. I am mainly very disappointed by the "level" of this forum. I joined it because I live on this island for 4 years now and it's always nice to talk to falang who are living here too.

But in practise, this forum is ruled by stupidity. Starting threads like:
"How many times did you come in her ear?" or "Do you have to pay the girl after f[aeiouc] her?". And posting pictures from the most ugly girls from Isaan (the Thai men are laughing their brains out) and that posting is normally replied by 20 brainless people like this:

"Soewaai maak maak. "

"Only 23 days, 14 hours and 13 minutes and then I'm back in the LOS. "

"Ooohh... nice girl... you are a lucky man "

"I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING, I DON'T WANNA KNOW ANYTHING, I ONLY WANT TO BE MAO MAAK MAAK "

Lets put it mildly, I expected a little more quality.

But, there are some good posts coming around, mainly from people who are living here.

You know, you can ask all my friends: "Burg? Always laughing, always joking."

Last year we went to Patong and I got so depressed looking around there.
I rarely have depressions, so it must be Patong.

And 98% of this forum are Patongers, maybe that helps.

That's one thing I'm looking forward to on our upcoming trip to The N, have some decent brain exchanging.

Maybe a novelty here, my Thai woman pays the tickets.

See you around. We will drink a beer sooner or later.

Any one ever give a dollar to a bum, even though he was going to buy liquor.

I'll spend $200 in the bar on Friday night at home and piss it all out the next morning.

1000bht for a lay. $30 more or less.

What the hell is wrong with sending a few bucks. It's like UNICEF for perverts!

Heh Burg read Swiftdave's comment above should make you happy, totally off topic, doesn't make any sense, only missing the *** in her ear bit, how did he manage to follow your post with that????? I've even re-read the thread to see if I can link it to someone elses comment, sorry Burg you seem to have predicted the next post and by the way I never turn down a beer so beware I'm around in september might have to take you up on it.

So what have you been doing out there for four years Burg? Work, retired, just chilling out? If it's not too personal a question.

You can ask me anything.

Not retired, I moved to Thailand when I was 35. Had everything over there, very good job (no boss), excellent working times (4 days a week) and .. some beautiful woman walking around my house. Then, by coincidence I ended up in Bangkok. After 3 days I was walking nearby Wat Po, at 12:00 a day, the sun was burning, the traffic was enormous, the unknown smells of the Thai herbs were still in my nose, and I shouted: "Out of this place! I hate it!" We moved on to the South, and after 10 days I said to my friends: "Im going to live here".

To cut a long story short, I sold all my belongings (house fe) and moved to T. My suitcase was 8 kg. I did nothing the first 3 years. Chilling.

I was very fortunated to have met my Thai wife already (on Sea Canoe) and after 3 years we got married. She is an exceptional business woman and I'm a rather nice, though lousy, computer man (Linux of course) and together we are making money right now.

I have been very lucky in my life!

Sorry dodger don't know how I followed that post, must have posted near the same time. But It's not off topic, Burg was suggesting BM's are idiots for sending money, I'm only asking what's wrong with it. As long as you don't think you're buying love. My ex just had the nerve to ask me for $5000 so her and new hubby could buy a house. That's stupid.
Couple hundred bucks to a girl who gave pleasure for a week or two and will be waiting if you want her when you return. BIG DEAL

And sorry to you dave, it didn't make sense to me before but now can see the reasoning behind it, still learning to think before I post !!!

BURG this forum is not only for expats its member base is 8821 most of them dont reside in patong or thailand but go there on holidays or whatever.
you seem really negitave about Patong and of course you have the right to post whatever you think.
A lot of the BMs are asking questions which they would like an answer too if you cant help them with constructive info why answer at all ?

"I am mainly very disappointed by the "level" of this forum. I joined it because I live on this island for 4 years now and it's always nice to talk to falang who are living here too."

there may be a need for a forum for expats,on this board there is such an area.

possibily your time could be better spent getting a Forum up and running for
just expats on a new site.

dont like someone or there posts block them
dont like what someone writes or its bullsh1t dont answer there posts

JUST AS AN AFTER THOUGHT THE MEMBERS WHO DO RESIDE IN THAILAND ARE SOME OF THE MOST RESPECTED MEMBERS OF THIS BOARD.
THE REASON - BECAUSE THEY HELP OTHERS

Think your being a little harsh here Burg.......as AD says your constructive input here could be a real bonus for this Forum.

Yes we do get our share of really daft posts here.....but that's life....you don't have to read them.

BTW l'm tipping your wife is not from Isaan

I think the variety of this forum is what keeps me coming back.

One day we have in depth conversations on terrorism or the class system.

One day its just good solid information on LOS

One day the perils of licking a BG @ss

variety is the spice of life.

I also think the quality of the opinions is first rate and there are some real funny guys posting here too.

Don't change a thing and don't discourage anyone.

Hi Burg and thank you for your honest and open answer to my question. I am another poster who can get a bit wacky now and again but that's just me! Wibble!

You are of a similar age to me I am guessing (Maybe a bit younger) and reading what you did/have done made me smile. It takes balls to do what you did. So many people talk about getting out of the rat race, you did it. You have my respect there. You are a lucky man, you are making money, you do have a lovely wife, you are living your life. I would have thought you would be bursting at the seams to tell us all about it. I think we are all guilty at somepoint of not engaging our brains or mouth before putting fingers to keyboard. Some BM's are younger, maybe not as educated as yourself, however, I do hope you find the intellectual input on this forum you crave and just have a wry smile at the idiots, such as me, who post countdowns to thier holidays (Guilty! ) Rants and raves (Guilty! ) and stoopid questions! (Yep, you guessed it - Guilty! )

A hell of alot of us here aspire to do what you have and are doing Burg. I am going out now with the prospect of being blown up, shot at, petrol-bombed or spat at! (My choice I do know that) What are your plans for today in the LOS Burg? Cheer up mate. You're doing it!

PS If Diz's relationship crashes and burns (which I sincerely hope it doesn't) Then I want to be the first on the pop with him. Take care Diz.

Diz i do know that they sometimes give their email addresses to their friends to use.
I have seen this happen, don’t know if this is the case, but you are in the same boat as me that if you confront them you will have to give the game away that you have the password.

Bugger I did not mean to start WW3.
Burg, if you look at my title in the update it is Whose a cumb dunt, if you swap the c and d that is how I felt.
Yep it wasn’t the most clever move and yes I was aware that I could cop some LIGHT hearted flack and I don’t mind as I like a laugh and yes some times it is at my own expense, and the others who post their errors in judgement. I went into it with my eyes open and if it did not go the way I wanted such is life. I don’t think she is a rip off heartless BG, I just think that she isn’t that clever and she has shat in her own nest. I see it as her loss and a lesson to me, not cheap but if some of the figures on this forum are to be believed my amount was a drop in the bucket.
It is not such a big deal, yeah 14,000 is 14 LT I know I don’t need any one else to tell me that. Live and learn.
The thing that I like about this board is that people are prepared to put information out at expense to their possible embarrassment, so that others, especially new people can be aware of the pitfalls and if my embarrassment saves some one else from making a similar mistake then it is worth it for me. I can live with being slammed on the forum.
Although nearly all responses were oh well bad luck, at least you tried. I didn’t want any ones sympathy. I am really happy when I do get the positive posts that things are going well for some couples. So the good ones do exist .I am just now more convinced, that for me I will wait until I move to Thai to live and not have anything to permanent before that. May decide that I don’t want anything permanent when I am living there, I don’t know.
To my knowledge I have not met you so I do not know if you are normally jovial or not. If the majority of the people on this forum are too far below your intellect why read and comment? If the average punter’s intellect angers you why bother? Your opinions do not bother me I read the threads and personally like to see both sides or opinions. This helps for a balanced outlook on a subject.

Yes for the people who live in LOS it may seem that us terry the tourists seem to make some fundamental farg ups, but you have the luxury of being there day in and day out, good luck to you, I envy you guys that are lucky enough to live there, and some pass on some valuable to wisdom to us who only visit. We pop in and try and make the magic extend a bit after we leave, that is where I go wrong any way. I wasn’t only looking for something to bang the crap of while I was there. But after yet another lesson I will be far less likely to let them under my skin. Every day is a school day, always learning.
Have a good Friday night and weekend all.

I have some problems with this Burg.
You insinuates that all expats have a high IQ (posting the gross of the good posts), and most tourists are morons.
I agree some threads are stupid, but even in those stupid threads some BM's, even non expats post good answers.
This forum is for everybody. Through this forum I met some BM's in bars owned by other BM's. Without this board I would never have stopped in the MTB, ot another bar owned by a BM, which should have been a pitty, especially for me, as I love talking, drinking and joking with other BM's. So this forum is also good for some expats at least. And if you don't like a post, just ignore it.
As told before maybe you should start a new MB, for expats only. But then if you are living in Phuket I suppose it would be a lot easier just to visit other expats living there and have a talk.

disbuster when i mentioned forgeting password i know its hard what im saying is we have no right to read somebody eleses mail be it a letter or email, its wrong IMHO saying that I have done this and have regreted it heaps.
Me I go to LOS a few times a year ,meet my "girl" ,and love it and her,my last trip my "girl" was busy with someone else making good money,I gave her the ok to make her money would it have be right for me to say piss him off Im back ,when I only am in LOS for 4 to 6 weeks per year dont think so.
In my opion if you want a long term relationship with a TG you must live in thailand trying to get them to intergate into your society is hard.(I know this can happen)
LOS is made for a few different types of people
people who love the complete BG scene (use them and lose them)
people who are looking for long term relationships(I want a wife)
people who are lookin for a bit of escapism(my holiday do what i like)

myself I believe a bit of everything thing if i meet a girl and can have a bit of all 3 above im lucky.

But dont get me wrong I dont travel to Thailand just to be a SEX TOURIST I travel to LOS because i love the country, the people, the history ,the BGs are an added extra.

Diz a lot of us including you have been there seen it done it but still have the girlfriend thought. Seeing a sms, mail message, picture on the forum of gf with another bm is reality smacking us in the face, a reality that we know but can sometimes put to the back of our minds. My thoughts are now simply, the girl wasn't a virgin when I met her, she is in patong and can easily be tempted for quick 1000 baht so just accept it. When I live there different story but unfortunately seems to still happen.

I am sure you know all this and understand sometimes the reality smack catches us off guard. If you like her, accept it, see her again and have a great time while you are there with her. I suppose I would perhaps have a different attitude if I was sponsoring but then I never do or will do and the reasons above are why I don't.
