I have to admit though l thought Schmiechel was the best keeper l have ever seen as well.

saw George play and like many others felt privileged to be in the presence of true genius - RIP
have to disagree with views on best keeper. Banks, Schmiechel, Zoff all terrific players but Lev Yashin (USSR) was the best goalkeeper I have ever seen. Played in the '66 World Cup when the Russians reached semi-finals and while reaching the end of an illustrious career still showed the presence and athleticism that were the hallmarks of his game - 1st of the 'modern'-era keepers - RIP
