Its a long shot but if Ireland beat Scotland, They still have a chance of taking the championship and the triple crown...

Although it will be really tough to beat England in there own backyard, Thats if we get past the Scots and that wont be easy either...

Four teams in with a shout of the championship now, France Scotland,England and Ireland. I put them in order of where I think they are likely to finish.
Wales? finished for another season, but could cause an upset for someone.
Italy. Id really like to see them win a match this season, they deserve it.

I think that ireland has all hope of beating Scotland Ally...........if they play the open rugby that they are capable of playing..........so hold onto that hope lad..........

England seem to have gone backwards since the 1st game where they easily looked the team to beat......a win for Ireland against them if they continue in their current vein is not out of the question either

It's a pretty good effort by Scotland to beat both favourites Dawsey.........but I wouldn't want to see them carry it out after their dour football on the weekend.......

Is thier a points difference system in place if more than one team finishes equal top ????

I wouldn't mind seeing Italy beat someone either..........even tho' I predicted they wouldn't win one this year I think that they are the most improved team.......yeah yeah I hear all of you Scots out there....but surely you can't think it is acceptable to win a match without scoring a try

Oh I can hear the pipes already.........55555

Hi nelsonone,

Yes it was a good effort by the Scots yesterday, especially in defence, but like you I hate to see games won without tries. The stats show everything about that match, especially the tackle count, but its no good if you cant turn possession into points.
I just put Englands showing down to a bad day at the office

The French are there to be beaten, they only seem to be able to play for 40mins,and any team pressurising them has a chance. Ireland had them on the run,and Italy kept them at bay for the first half.
If England lose against the French, and Ireland beat Scotland, I can see Ireland getting a good result at Twickenham in the final match.

Yes, points for and against, determine the finishing place when results are level.
England are ahead at the moment by about 10points from France.

Hey Dawsey,

Thanks for the answer on the table/points for and against..........I thought that would be the case but just wasn't sure.........

England did have a bad day at the office against Scotland but I am concerned that they have lost impetus after playing great Rugby against Wales in the 1st match...............

England vs France should be a beauty as the winner won't be able to rely on penalties/FGs...that's one great thing about the French.....they play running rugby...even if they do forget what game they are playing sometimes.....

I still think England can do it.......but they need to find a bit more imagination and make chances......rather than just waiting for them to appear..........

Good luck to you guys........I'm just sore about my $500............coulda bought you England suppporters a few beers with that in MTB at Songkran.............55555

Sorry guys but i had to laugh at the comments about scotland winning without scoring a try, I have been watching England from the Rob andrew days through paul grayson and onto jonny wilkinson and they have always been a team apart from an 18 month spell who played to their strenghts a huge phisically superior pack who basically bullied the opposition into giving away penalties knowing that they had a dependable goal kicker .Yesterday englands pack were 16 lbs a man heavier than scotlands did you really expect us to commit suicide and play an open game, Scotlands strenghths have always been the back row there is no team apart from the all blacks better at the rucking and mauling game than scotland and yet again we have found some class back row men TAYLOR,HOGG,AND WHITE our 2 young second row forwards were also very good our big weakness is in the front row apart from the young ****** ROSS FORD who came on as a sub there is a lack of class there especially at loosehead oh for a young Ian Milne or David sole ,

But basically apart from Italy the other 5 teams are much of a sameness and home advantage is proving critical.

As i said i am very hopeful for scotlands future now they have got a young team together and guys like TAYLOR,HOGG,KELLOCK,MCLEOD,LAMONT,DIMARCO AND HENDERSON ARE ONLY GOING TO GET BETTER WITH EXPERIENCE

Its good to have Scotland back and competing again Big T. They have been whipping boys along with the Welsh and Italians for too long. The 6Nations needs equally matched teams to provide some sort of spectacle for the fans. Not one sided thrashings.
Pity yesterdays game didn't have tries as the contact side of things was pretty good. But we fans want to see try scoring games. The management however need to get a "result" at all costs it seems.

Scotland were just too good defensively yesterday (I can talk about it now without crying). It's already been said that England have gone backwards and I just think it's true. Scotland played right on the offside line like the ABs do, which put Hodgson under pressure, and England were not imaginitive enough to find an answer.

Seriously , I really hate games where it is all penalty kicks , 3 points is too much , cut it down to 1 point or a 10 yard gain and it would give more incentive for a "running" game.

Sorry TM but to be fair the quotes about no tries came from me........and I am certainly not an England supporter.....I'm an AB's man Through + Through......IMHO the England BM supporters above took the loss very well/philosophically......and I do think that Scotland under their new coach is a much better/smarter outfit to their credit

Sorry but I don't like tryless games

Right then Nelsonone,I'll stick my neck out with my predictions, but I was wrong last time
France to win by one score.
Ireland will beat Scotland, not by a big margin though.
I expect Wales to win fairly easily v Italy but only if Stephen Jones is No10.
Otherwise a close win for Wales.

I hope Im wrong, but England have been misfiring on the set pieces and got turned over too many times against Scotland. They will improve, but if the French have the right attitude then home advantage should shade it for them.
If their attitude is wrong, eg 2nd half v Ireland, whole match v Scotland then they will be beaten. With the French, who knows?

I'm not convinced Andy Robinson has picked his best side for the match against France.
I would liked to have seen Tom Varndell on the wing in place of Ben Cohen, and Tindall's place is on the line for me. He can't keep relying on the crash ball. Noon and Tindall in the centre has been tried and they are not working well together yet.
I would have started Dallalgio from the start, and bring on Lewis Moody if required. Dallalgio is an able openside flanker.

It was hard deciding which of the "beaten" teams to support.

Sorry faulty............only going for Ireland because they are at home.......not much between these two teams at present IMHO............you can take great pride in Scotland's performances this year under their new (and scottish) coach........I hated Matt Williams when he was at the Waratah's..........he's all shite as far as I am concerend.............best decison in Scottish Rugby to ditch him...........worst decision.....hiring him

So the boys are deserting England eh...............I think they've got a good game in them.......and the French hate getting pushed around in the scrums/forwards/rucks/mauls/lineouts...........England need to get a bit physical/nasty and upset them.......I would really like to see that......hehehehe

If England can starve the French backs of ball they should win it........well???

Should be two cracker matches though.........I might even have to set the alarm clock...we are 13 hours behind you guys....12 for France....at present

Err aren't you 12hrs ahead of us Nelsonone
I always thought that if its after midday here then its after midnight next day in NZ.

http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/info/timezone.htm

Anyways, 6Nations. Sure starve the French backs, but have you watched Englands kicking game recently. So poor. Instead of clearing to touch, or over the top,the ball has been sailing straight back to the opposition, and then we have to get it back again.
Thats one thing England have missed, J Wilkinsons kicking from hand.
I hope England make me eat my words and the stuff the French.

Ummm er ............. yes dawsey you are correct of course we are ahead but by 13 hrs at present (yes I know that this seems impossible but) we are on daylight saving....well until after next weekend anyway...........

It's kinda weird but I do I think that you guys are ahead sometimes when I'm watching rugby..........cause I get up early in the morning and it's the afternoon there...........no logic I know but that's me half asleep in the we small hours.......

Agree with you on the kicking game....don't wanna get on the Charlie thing again!!!!!..........55555.........but I do think that they will have learnt a lot of lessons in this dept from the Scotland match where they were out thought and out kicked...........

I hate the French.....but admire their runing rugby when they are on song
