We beat Switzerland with 6-2. We also got two gold medals and one bronze today. Sweden women curling team also won today, so it look very good for Sweden this year.
I dont know yet who Sweden will meet for the semi finals but for sure the competition is very hard this year, but I also agree Finland has been very good and may be up for the finals.

I am no longer a Canadian!!! I abdicate my citizenship and hang my head in shame. At least our women can play hockey.

well, canuck boys.
none of us can rag on each other. both of our countries stunk it up
my thoughts is that all the teams have NHL stars and then you factor in that its international play, No America doesnt have a stronghold on hockey anymore
its really the same in all intenational play these days, in evrey major sport

Yup, I think the day the US lost in Olympic mens basketball was the day I realized there really aren't any powerhouse countries left at any sport...

Yeah,
Sweden won tonight with 7-3 against Czech Republic and I feel very happy, I actually thought we should loose tonight. I am looking forward to the final on Sunday.
The bar was packed with Swedish people and we all had a great time. (MTB is not a Swedish bar and I think I never had so many swedes in the bar before)
Go Sweden go!!!!

Congrats to both Sweden and Finland. Great hockey and well deserved medals. Sport is supposed to be about showing up and giving it your all.
Maybe the Olympics should go back to just amateurs. To some of these guys it just doesn't have the meaning. They go back Tuesday to thier regular teams and thier multi million dollar salaries and they'll forget they ever went. But to the cross country skier or the speed skater, the Olympics is the pinnacle.
Oh well, 2010 is in Vancouver and I'll be there, watching not competing, unless drinking and fcuking become a sport.

Well said SD. They seem to have twisted the rules in recent times in order to let professionals in. It's the same as football and tennis by the sound of it, I'm not sure what they do to get them in but it's wrong.

I dont agree here..
I think it is i huge thing for them. After all, it is a tournament with the absolute best players in the world, and it is only played once every fourth year. So i think it is a big thing for them..
Here in Stockholm it will be crazy tonight. The players is coming home, and will be celebrated in the city.. They warn everybody to take cars to the city because it will be chaos. ...

It looks like Vancouver/Canada 2010 will be the last time NHL players will join Winter Olympics, if the NHL clubs get what they want (and they pays huge sums for these players).
I guess most NHL players from Europe ranks OS Gold as one of the biggest things you can win.

Probably the smart thing to do, but if vodka was available what the hell party time!! We dont have parties like that for the olympics. We do have it for football, basketball, and baseball though. Im not too sure about hockey. In LA when the Lakers were winning there were many parties here.
I did not watch the winter olympics too much, I tend to watch summer games more as the have judo, and tae kwon do and such. I did watch curling though. LOL.
