Calzaghe v Lacy

A great performance from Joe Calzaghe who completely dominated challenger Jeff Lacy last night.

I don't think Lacy won a round,he was completely outclassed and Joe must be one of the best boxers around at the moment.

He was sensational last night, He is the longest serving World champion (8+years), But they were showing him the upmost disrespect before the fight, Saying he had no power, And that he slapped like a girl, The bookies had Lacey as favourite and all the American broadcasters were saying Lacey was going to knock him out easy, That Calzaghe was overrated, But I knew he would beat him and boy did he beat him...

I didnt think he would do it the way he did, It was unbelievable and made Lacey look like a mug, He battered him for 12 rounds solid, And Lacey never troubled him whatsoever, It was all one sided and he didnt even lose a single round, He is definatly right up there with the best pound for pound fighters in the world, It was sensational boxing, Even better than Hattan and thats some feat, Just hope he gets the respect he deserves after this, Because he showed the all last night what he was made off, Absolutly brilliant

worth remembering Lacy was odds-on and the 'smart' money said Joe was ready to be taken. Lacy was highly regarded, a world champion in his own right and touted as one of the best pound4pound. Joe made him look very ordinary and its difficult to see Jeff Lacy recovering from such a defeat - could be a career stopper.

Thought Lacy's corner didn't do him any favours and could have pulled him out to avoid unnecessary punishment. But - a world title unification contest, they wanted to give their guy every chance.

WAS AN absolutely brilliant and to me surprising performance by Calzaghe because in his last couple of fights he looked like a boxer going backwards in his career , but he showed just how good he is when the pressure is on.

i never used to be into boxing but i work next to the brother of scott harrison the world super featherweight champion so i go to most of his fights now and enjoy my night out .
