Volvo Ocean Race 2005-2006
Is anybody following this.
http://www.volvooceanrace.org/index.aspx They send one hour almost every day from this at home on TV. In the beginning i dident care,but afther watching it some times i start to like it.Since we have a skipper and some crew on Brasil1 i like to read their mails and storys from the race on work every day. And when you watch tv with cameras onboard every boat and folowing the drama onbord in extreme conditions,its quite funny. And its a lot of drama spesially with the cold storms in the south. The way sailing can now be covered with GPS locations and computerised mapping showing racing competitors I love to watch it.. There used to be good coverage in Holland just before I left to come here but not seen much of it here..

I see a bit and love to watch it. I think there is a half-hour program on Sky twice a week.
Last night it was about Movistar (think that's right) which nearly lost its keel and sank. Scary stuff.

Saw the damage to it on tv. Some of the crew refused to get back on the boat which is exactly what I would have done.
Those swinging keels seem to keep breaking, and you don't get too far without one of those do you?

They were in Wellington harbour a couple of weekends ago so I went down for a geek at them...............fantastic boats and the technology is amazing
They did a lap around the harbour (just out in front of my new house here...... which I have just move dinto) and they looked quite majestic in full sail as they turned and went out of the heads It's a tough journey for all concerened...buggered if I would go between continents on one
