Rugby- pre World Cup News

Thought it might be worth starting a thread for rugby lovers to post their countries news, in the run up to the world cup.

Reading one of todays newspapers, Former England captain Martin Johnson was quoted as saying that he thought Clive Woodward would be a good choice to return as England manager.
Andy Robinson should,in Johnsons opinion , still be kept on to coach, but feels Woodward has better "man management".

A surprising quote given the disasterous Lions tour to NZ that Woodward oversaw.

Any comments?

Imagine finding me on this thread dawsey............ .............55555

If it were 2 years out I'd say England should sack Robinson and start again.........but it's not and it's too late now............

Best for England to get a good man manager (maybe from Football in a nice reversal of "we gave you Clive............now give us yer best") and let Robinson coach.........

England need to find + blood new talent very quickly IMHO.......oh and find an inspirational captain who the palyers want to die for..............

As for the AB's I think that they will go through a mini rebuilding programme in this year's Tri Nations (after the retirement of Umaga)........and I think that it will be a very even series this year............both Australia and SA are on the improve.........I wouldn't be surprised to see all teams win their own home matches and lose their away games.......with the AB's coming out on top on bonus points or just winning one of their away games..............probably in Australia

Larkham is looking great again for the Brumbies and Matt Rogers is playing out of his skin for the Waratah's so the Wallabies No 10 issues are well covered......this will allow Giteau to play his natural running rugby game at outside centre........Australia is still lacking a front row tho'

I said pretty much that in the 6 Nations thread Dawsey, his man management skills are suspect but I agree with Nelson, we are too close to the world cup.

I think our role this time will be to return the trophy and watch the knockout stages with detached interest.
