OK football fans,a poll to see who thinks will win the upcoming World Cup in Germany. Sorry for those who couldn't care less,just give this thread a miss.

I've given a choice of winners,if your team isn't there then vote for the last choice (another team)

Before anyone says anything I posted this in the Sports section,not "Polls and Surveys" 'cos its Sport

The poll will close on the eve of the first match,8th June.

England will fall over as soon as the first serious questions are asked, last eight. There will be another surprise package in the semis, Greece maybe, Holland will entertain and then implode as usual. Germany will go close, close but no cigar, and Brazil will win with a big smile on their faces as usual.

My thoughts as well,pretty much. I fancy Holland could be the surprise side,there's always one. And never discount the Italians.
I have to go with Brazil simply as they have the most talented players in the world.
BTW Did Greece qualify

, but they came from nowhere to win Euro 2004 and each of the last world cups has thrown us a curve ball, Korea and Turkey I think, so one of the less fancied teams will be there again.

Went with Argentina. But isn't there a "rule" that usually a country from the same continent as the host nation wins? Except for Brazil in 58 and last time Japan. In that case Germany and Holland are the out-siders.

55555.. Ok I will stick my neck on the line even though I have a bet with Barcardi73 that they wont do it, I think it will be England... Dont ask me why because they have always underachieved but something tells me they are gonna go the way this time... I think its time for them to shine and I believe they will, And this might come across as a bit biased but I think Gerrard will play a starring role

I'm going for Italy who have a knack of doing well when the competition is played in Europe and always seem to do well when the pressure is on.

Best price at present is 10.6/1.

I have invested some "hard-earned" with Betfair at 10/1. I might also have a little bit of the 33/1 on offer for an England v Italy final, but it would not be much.

You took the words right out of my mouth Diz, I really believe its gonna be England v Italy in the final, And even though I am not a gambling man, I will put 20quid on that if its 33/1, I would only be kicking myself if I didnt and I was right...

Holland to go all the way. Although the Czechs are a strong team and worth an outside bet. Maybe just maybe Spain can actually do something. They need to make up for the disapointments of 2002 and 2004 well and come to think of it quite a few years. They always under acheive and maybe just maybe it could be there year this time.

What have changed in 40 years,yes premiership have a high standard because of al off the foreigners who play there.Even the managment is from outside Brittan.
