Scandinavian national team

Ok this is a bit stupid, but given the Swedish “fiasco” the other night, me and a friend started dreaming up a Scandinavian national team. Think this one could’ve done quite well in the competition.

Not really updated on the Danes these days though and some of these could probably have been replaced by younger fitter lads.

Thomas Sørensen Denmark, Aston Villa
John Arne Riise Norway, Liverpool
Olof Mellberg Sweden, Aston Villa
Sami Hyypia Finland, Liverpool
Brian Priske Denmark, Portsmouth
Fredrik Ljungberg Sweden, Arsenal
Morten Gamst Pedersen Norway Blackburn
Thomas Gravesen Denmark, Real Madrid
Jesper Grønkjær Denmark, Stuttgart
Zlatan Ibrahimović Sweden, Juventus
Jon Dahl Tomasson Denmark Stuttgart

Just a question! What does a guy from Finland do on the Scandinavian team? Last time I heard about it, then Scandinavia was only Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

And yes I know in the US, they call all the nordic countries (Scandinavia incl. Iceland and Finland) for Scandinavia.... But...

Well, the definition is not that clear-cut. I’ve been in similar discussions before with regard to what constitutes Scandinavia. Strictly speaking using “Norden” would maybe be more correct.

Besides, it was not meant to be taken that seriously anyway.

Sometimes the word Norden is applied to the five countries because it avoids the physiographic and cultural limitations of the word Scandinavia.

Well it was either Larsson or Tomasson up front and I went with the latter. Solskjær is not good enough in this company IMO, at least for the time being.
