I guess he deserves a victory at some time. But he only won today by default. His car just ain't as good as the Ferrari,Renault or McClaren.
He had better savour this victory because I can't see him winning in a Honda again for a long while, unless he capitalises again on another drivers misfortune.

OMG that means he will be BBC Sports Personality of the Year, and be knighted in the New Years Honours list.
I am glad he has got a win under his belt, though.

F1 Observation
Greetings--
Has anyone noticed what is arguably the Most Significant Development in professional autoracing and its pinnacle Formula One?
Empty seats. Whole stands deserted.
Even in Germany where MS is a diety there were un-glutti'ed seats. A whole bunch of them. Same-- much worse, really-- for IndyCars. Absent Danica Kornukova to add spice would anyone watch that series?
NASCAR by contrast is nuts to butts both in the stands and on the track.
The age-old problem: wins are a direct function of money spent. Yet now that cars are more computer/airplane than automobiles the driver is hardly in the equation. There is simply no hope for consistent good showings unless a "team budget" exceeds the GNP of most Third World countries.
What does Ferrari spend on its team per year? More than US$100 million? That kind of money to watch overpayed primadonnas run in circles. There is something wrong in this equation.

I had'nt noticed that, but I'm not surprised. F1 bores the ass off me now. I was pleased for Button though, about time he got a win.
F1 used to be exciteing, proper racing that you never could pick a winner from before the race. These days it seems like, as you say, the bigger the budget the more likely the team to win.

Now im no expert on moter-racing! In fact i really really hate it.
But from what i understand and read, Ferrari are not the biggest spenders in F1. Someone like Reanualt or Toyota is by a long distance. What makes teams like Ferrari so succesfull is that nearly all parts of the car are built in house (except tyres!), so they can pretty much control reliability.
I agree with you though the massive amounts of money spent in this elitest 'sport' is vastly wrong imho.
But then I dont really care either way!
Oh, I i think Button is an over exposed, over payed and vastly over rated C*$T!

Ferrari are far and away the biggest spenders in FI, this is how the budgets break down (not official team figures, BTW. From a magazine)
Ferrari also pay their No1 driver around 3 times what any other team pays theirs.
$443,800,000 Ferrari
$353,300,000 Williams
$304,600,000 McLaren
$290,400,000 Toyota
$225,100,000 BAR
$206,800,000 Renault
$119,500,000 Sauber
