The end of Becks???
Well lokks like Becks has taken the brunt of the poor effort at the recent WC and has been dumped with the "the door is not open" gaff by the new guvnor.......
Well IMHO Becks is woth 10x the new guv.......and you can kiss goodbye to any great future accomplishements under him!!
Not saying that I would have kept Becks mind.....just another case of how #@$%ed up English football is.....can't even be kind and respectful at this time.......to a guy who has given 10 years of loyal service to the English game.....appalling!!!!

becks
I think a good part of his demise, were the WAGS led by his idominatable missus- its time for the English team to stop behaving like an overpaid boy band and get back to the basics- teamwork, hard work and a focus on football. Becks public life was the final nail in the coffin for his playing career sadly........ never forget the last gasp goal in Wales, and his goal from the half way line for Man U...no-one can doubt his ability..
Have to say I'm a huge fan of Terry anway, specially as his bad boy days seem over....

I doubt he is finnished as a national team player.
As a Captain sure, but with the lack of quality players in that team he will be back if he do hes things well in Real.
And he is still one of the biggest "stars" in the circus
In WC i dont think you could blame him for poor results.
Lampard,Gerrard,Cole was the big disappointment.

He was Real Madrid's best player last season, I think it strange that there is no place in the England squad for him. There were far worse perforfers at the WC

This is only the first meaningless friendly since the world cup, I think it could be a handful of reasons why he is not picked for this game, I would'nt think for one minute it is his last game. Regarding the captaincy, that was his request and Terry is the better and obvious choice.
Surely any manager in world would have him on thier bench even if it was just to put him on in the latter stages of a game just to get you a free kick goal and there still isn't a better passer of the ball in the world.

I thought Gerrard would have made a good captain, but Terry is a fair shout too.
I guess this squad, being his first, is a big statement of intent. Maybe it is over for Beckham? I hope not though.

I doubt it is totally over for Beckham. I feel McClaren will give the guy a chance if he is fit and on form, but I fancy he has earmarked Tottenhams Lennon for Beckhams spot.
I suppose a new manager wants to start afresh, but the way of dropping him wasn't too good. He has been a good servant for England, but its a new era for them now and as good a time to try out new players in the upcoming friendlies.

It think it's good tradition for a great player who contributed as much as Beck's to have his last game in front of a full crowded stadium in the english shirt to say good bye.
Not just like this, I don't believe he will not play again, either.

Well I think if a guy gives 19 years of his life and service to the sport he should be treat right. A proper fairwell and all that. Sadly it does not always happen like that. I still think hes a good player. The whole team was playing a bit mediocre this WC anyways.
