gun pulled on roi manager steve staunton....
A gun was yesterday pulled on republic of ireland soccer manager steve staunton.The incident happened at the portmarnock hotel in dublin where the sqaud were staying ahead of tomorrows friendly clash against Holland.The manager was outside the entrance of the hotel making calls on his mobile and was approached by a man shouting obscenities.The man then pulled a handgun and threatened steve forcing him to run into the safety of the hotel leaving him shaken....A man in his 30s was subsequntly arrested nearby.It has been said he has phyciatric problems.the irish FA are reviewing security.... Steve staunton made his debut for liverpool as a 17 year old defender in 1988 finishing up at aston villa..He was the republics most capped player ever with 107 caps for his country...

Its the second time a "fire-arm incedent" has occured at that hotel while the ROI team has been there, over the last few years! 3 years ago, a gun was fired into the celling while the team where having dinner in the restaraunt!
If i was the Irish FA, i think i would move to a different hotel from now on!
