Us Pga
When I left home this morning play was well under way and Tiger + Mickelson had shot 3 under par 69 and Geoff Ogilvy had 2 under 70(all threee 2006 major winners playing in a 3 ball)..........Lucas Glover was leader on the scorebaord at 6 under 66 and playing good golf on a tight course....
I am still backing Tiger but this course is gonna be tough as the championship continues as it is very long + tight and needs accurate golf.....should also suit Mickelson + Ogilvy....but I'm thinking big Phil could have a brain explosion at some point!!!

Some mugs on Betfair were offering 2/5 on Tiger finishing in the Top Ten!
Worth going big on that one, but I missed it

Especially as he is now one shot off the lead at half way. It was recommended as a full 10pt bet.
Think I will regret missing out on that one, though it certainly would not have been $1000 going on it!

well boys loks like Tiger is gonna do it again......he was 3 up on Weir at 17 under after 7 holes when I left home this morning........Luke Donald unfortunately has lost ground on him with some bad driving + putting.......damn shame realy as I would have loved Luke to be uo there at the end.....he has had 3 fine days in the tournament so far but now looks to be out of the picture.......
Mickelson was way back at 8 under and ogilvy started par, bogey, double bogey, birdie to be 10 under and with that had pretty much put paid to his chances....
can't se anyone getting near El Tigre now!!!!

So it was Tiger by 5 shots from Shaun Micheel.......then a host of 3rd placegetters including Segio, Adam Scott and Luke Donald......
Tiger now moves into second place (all by himself....before this he was tied with walter Hagen) on the alltime majors winners........Jack is out by himself at 18 and will take some hauling in.....even by Tiger!!!

Totally agree IJ......he is by far and away the best golfer playing at present but his real strength lies in his awesome intimidation.........not in any ungentlemanly way.....just by his ability to manufacture shots and claw birdies + pars mixed with quixotic eagles when needed most.........the concentration is amazing!!!!

totally agree IJ.......Luke played pretty flawless golf up until that last day when he was paired with Tiger..and I really wanted him to do well.....as I did Geoff Ogilvy.....as you know he is one of my faves........
I really do hope Luke actually bags a big one.....he + Sergio are two great (but very different) golfers who i would love to see win a major....

Only one golfer has really challenged Tiger Woods superiority in recent years and thats Ernie Els. For a couple of years,Ernie had the better of him,but I don't know if that was down to a slump in Tigers game,[he did change his swing when he had back problems] or whether Ernie was genuinely better.
No matter, Ernie fcuked his knee up,Tiger is back on his game, and as you guys have noted, there is nothing stopping him overtaking Jack Nicklaus in major titles. He is unstoppable.
Just one thing though, so far in all his Ryder Cup matches he has lost 13 of the 20 he has played in. The European Ryder Cup team will have prepared the K Club to favour the European game, and I'll be very very surprised if the Americans can regain it. Tiger cant play in every match

So true dawsey.....and a well spotted statistic......I reckon that for such an awesome match play golfer he is way under par in Ryder Cup and President's cup tournaments......
I think that the team format is lost on him a bit......and also he lets his guard down a little as part of a team and relaxes with the guys he probably would want to be friends with but can't because he is such a competive little shi'ite.......55555.....

Tiger is only onw shot behind Cynk, Cink...whatever.
Believe me, he'll come out with blood in his eyes, after yesterdays "foopah"!
Let's see...Yep, it'll be Tiger winning by a margin of 3 shots!

Not quite Pabloaw but yes he did win again.........and yes you were right to have confidence in him.........
he won in a playoff with Cink after tying on 10 under each after the 72 holes........and on the 4th hole of the playoff.....
just been watching it in my office......
The little shi'ite has now won the 4 in a row as IJ suggested was possible.....
Has this man got them all bamboozled.....even playing poor golf.......by his standards....he still wins
