where is THE place the watch the game? best atmosphere etc.. staying at patong merlin so somewhere relatively close.. good people, good drinks, and watch the game, suggestions thanks

Plenty of places close by including the hotel itself. The hotel always has a large screen tv showing major sports in the reception area but it could be a little crowded. Shakers across the road from the hotel will have it on and the best place that I am sure will show it is on the massive screen in the patong o top markets across from the patong merlin as well. Plenty of bars around the markets that you can sit at and watch the game, go the swans.

Its looking like the NRL grand final will be Brisbane and Melbourne, again 2 out of state teams.

Noticed as I went by the beach house on Nanai today that it was rammed.. Think they had AFL on in there (hence the crowd)..

Also a nice comfy bar with a good to talk to owner and crowd of regulars..

Of course Aussie bar on Bangla has plenty of upmarket plasmas etc and is a well run place but more of a tourist scene..
