Footie
they were held to a goalless draw against Macadonia something
England suffered humiliation at the hands of Macedonia for the second time in four years as they were held to a goalless draw in their European Championship qualifier at Old Trafford.
Gary Caldwell fired Scotland to a famous 1-0 victory over France and gave their hopes of qualifying for the European Championships a massive shot in the arm
Republic of Ireland suffered one of the worst defeats in their history, 5-2 in Cyprus.
Northern Ireland are climbing the rankings and gaining respect along the way under Lawrie Sanchez's stewardship after a 0-0 draw in Denmark.

yep drew 0-0 with macedonia,TBH they did'nt make enough chances, stevie G's rattler was unlucky, but the better chances came from macedonia, needed some forward inspiration, wright phillips came on and live'nd things up,rooney needs to be sidlined i reckon, will sort him out,hes presence is good but he aint doing much for club nor country...........jus my thoughts.
but the only result of any interest is of course my boys givin la francais a beatin,1-0 to the scots.what a result, puts us 3 points clear at the top of the table, lets just hope we can keep it up.
wales flopped bigtime also,5-1 to slovakia im sure it finished, and also ireland beat by Cyprus, didnt see that comin either.
cue the unhappy supporters..............

Sounds like we are getting better So we scored a goal eh? Must have been a one armed goal keeper.
Mods should not take topics off-topic This is a thread about England not Wales.

My apologies. To bring the thread back on topic; England were shite. I can't think of one decent ball into the box for the Tall One. Bring back Beckham anyone?

Ok let's go off topic for a moment - who was the team that just sneaked a win against Wales?
Beckham???? Put Victoria into the England team and David into the Spice girls and the world is a better place

It's not often that Scotland give you something to be proud of but by default we are world champions. France beat Italy and we beat France that makes us World Champions in my eyes!!!!!!

To be honest, I don't think we had much of a chance even before the competition started, not that I know anything about football. We never do very well in the qualifiers for the world cup or the European. We might get an occassional good result and then at the crunch time lose to someone like the Faroe Islands
Early days yet but getting a draw at home against a team like Macedonia may well come back to haunt them at a later date.

Finally the Boys in Orange played decent game and just drew 1-1. First 2 games they play bad and win. I don't get it. Anyway, as long as we don't loose.
Sorry to see the Irish loose IJ.
And for the English guys here... Don't blame your guys too much Macedonia is tougher than it seems. During the World Cup qualifiers the only points we lost was against them. Both home and away.

Now do you think that 4-0 scoreline was such a great win for the Dutch...5555555..
Our team is rubbish, There is some really good players but the manager is a joke and should never have been appointed, I have never seen a worse performance by an Irish side.. It was disgraceful and they should all be disgusted with themselves... Really pathetic and its down to the FAI here in Ireland who hired Staunton, A manager with no experience whatsoever just because they could save a few bob... Can you tell I am angry???...5555555...

They were showing the scores on the news and Wales showed up as 0-0 with Cyprus. I was pleased with that result, better than letting in 5 , then the newsreader said that the game had not started
I don't know what the final score was, but I guess we lost.

England were awful again, both goals had a touch of comedy about them. McLaren will get slaughtered for this and he deserves it.

If Becham had been on the right wing there might have been a bit of srvice for Crouch, and also a bit of cover for Neville when he was pushing up.

England have been rubbish for a while....I dont think i have ever seen players like Lampard and terry play aswell for England as they do for Chelsea (Im a Chelsea fan) Gerrard has some good games but it depends on who he is playing and i think the same goes with a lot of other England players. Personally i dont think Beckham was as good for England since he moved to Real Madrid. I think some of the players dont have much desireto play for England.... Infact sice the days of people like Shearer and Pearce have i seen people who have real desire to play.... The game yesterday was poor and England need to really improve.... I will give mclaren a bit more time tho before i get critical of him... Its probably one of the hardest jobs in the world to do because of the expectation. But we will see in the next game if England plays better.

I NEVER had much love for chelsea fc but i have now got one more reason to dislike them step forward carefully mr Andrei Shevchenko an abolute cheating bastard if i ever saw one its bad enough he dives to get a player sent off and cons the ref but then 2 mins later he performs an even more appaling dive and unbelievably gets a penalty which clinches the match absolutely disgusting display !
being in london for a week and had to watch the england match on saturday they are an absolute shambles and its beginning to look obvious that the fa should never have appointed mclaren who was part of eriksons unglorious backroom team

I am not want to start a big debate on this, but why cant people see that it has notting to do with the todays manager or Sven.
When a team is bad and dont get the wanted results for the last 20 years why dont anybody even think that thought that the players not are top Europen standard, they play with their best men, but is it not good enough, and when have they proven that they are ?

But seriously, are all England managers just shit
Are they al shaggers, turnips etc etc as the tabloid press like to call them.
Al of them had success with their club teams before they did take over the national team.
So who can be the England manager and take them back on "top" like the good old days in the 60,s
Klinsmann ?

Gus Hiddink.. Martin o Neill.. Big Sam.. Phil Scorlari..
England have got some top class players, All they need is a good manager who has the balls to put a "Team" together and not just pick who are considered the best players because a lot of them are way to similar and its clear they cannot play together... For me personally I would have dropped Lampard a long time ago.. Also Downing who is shite IMO... He has not been performing and I would play Lennon and Richardson in there places.. Also time to start giving some of the younger players like Micah Richards a chance at right back a chance.. I would go with this team..
Robinson
Richards
Terry
Ferdinand
Cole
Lennon
Gerrard
Hargreaves
Cole/Richardson
Rooney
Crouch/Ashdon
McClaren has shown that he is not capable of doing that though.. But thats not the only thing the team needs, They need a man in like O Neill who can get every last bit of talent out of his players, Who inspires them to go out on that field and give it everything.. He would give them that motivation, That drive and that passion that they need to push on and really start to challenge for honours..
And Btw they went very close to winning the 86 and 90 World Cups and were only knocked out by the eventually winners, By the hand of god and on penalties.. Also in 98 they were beating Argentina until Beckham got sent off.. And only lost out to penalties.. In 2002 they just bottled it against the Brazilians who also went onto win it.. And then in 2006 we all know what happened and they still only got knocked out by penalties.. So to say they have not come close is not true!!
