JUST READING ON UK TELETEXT that andrew flintoff is having probs with his heel again if he is out then i dont give too much hope to englands chances the whole balance of their team will be affected do they replace him with a batsman or a bowler ?

If Flintoff is out, the whole team might just as well come home with him.
Flintoff is vital with both bat and ball and there is NO all rounder good enough to replace him.

Yes, it has to be a draw.

ITS 2.07 AM and the ashes are almost done and dusted its been a nightmare morning for england started by a terrible umpiring decision against andrew strauss and then a stupid run out, england are bottling it big style its gonna take a big effort from collingwood jones giles and hoggard to add at least 120 more runs to save the series.

Will England have lost 6/39............so hang on to that ticket IJ

Question is if Australia have to chase 150 - 180 for victory....how many wickets are they prepared to lose before they put the shutters up ?

England all out.........lost 9/66 today

Australia 168 to win........from 36 overs Run Rate 4.67 Maybe Hoggard and Co could knock Australia over ???

Australia was 14/1 before this morning...now they are Even Money as is the draw with England 33/1

If England lose they will break the Test record of having the highest 1st innings total and going on to lose the Test Match.

Two quick wickets see England back with a chance, after a great little partnership between Hussey & Ponting.

Damien Martyn ought to be fcuked up the ar5e with a barbed wire dildo playing the shot he did to get out.....he cost us against sth africa many years ago and was dropped for about 3 years.....might be under the microscope again.

35 to win 6 wickets in hand.......pendulum has swung back to Australia.

England forgot to turn up the last day.

Ummmm....wonder what would have happened if Giles had of hung onto that ponting catch day 3 ?

Giles was plundered in Australia's 2nd innings....time to give Monty a go me thinx....if you cannot take wickets on a 5th day pitch you never will.

l'm not saying he will do any better, but surely he couldn't do any worse.

Yes, England once again snatch defeat from the very jaws of victory .... Still a lot of cricket left but I can't see them taking the Ashes home this year.

Well shut my mouth

Well done to the Aussies. England batting was a disaster. May as well fly home now because the odds of winning the series was never good, now its impossible. Some of those England players should be ashamed for that collapse

only postive for the poms is IMHO ther fielding and commitment seems so much better than in the past, they played very well (in last innning)bowling was good just aust was on a roll nothing could have stopped them.
was great watching last 3 hours(if your an aussie)
poms 2nd innings was woeful makes the declare look stupid but has never been won before from that postion in test history.
think your terrorist bowler might now get a game, but waca will be made for fast bowler so maybe not.

could have got
$15 aust win start last day
$1.04 draw
$16 pom win

hindsight is great isnt it !!!!!!!

Hi Cliff,

Summed up pretty well. Poor umpire decision got Strauss, Flintoff threw his wicket, Bell stupid run out..........it goes on.

Not sure I like your comment about our "terrorist bowler". I assume you mean England born Sikh, Monty Panasaar. He is no terrorist mate, just a good bowler who coach Fletcher has treated poorly so far. Would have got more wickets than Giles anyway.

Maybe Mahmood will get a game instead of Anderson in Perth. Like you say, fast bouncy wicket wont suit the spinners. England really need Harmison now to play as he can.

well how do you lose a test from a position of 6 declared for 550 after batting for 2 days???.........and dominating almost every session on the first 4 days.........

england got their heart yanked out through their chest.........and now apart from rain I really like IJ's bet over mine........sure I took a safer option but....it was more rain I had in mind than an England win.......can't see that happenning now.....

Warne had their batsmen mesmerised........and a couple of the other Australian bowlers benefited from his precise ripping spin too....... by the batsmen having a go at them rather than at Warne....cause no one could have played his bowling yesterday......no one!!!!

3rd Test...... Perth.

Good day for England bowling out the Aussies for 244. Why didn't they pick Panasar until now after getting 5 - 92. Getting back to form for Harmison too with 4 - 48.

England closed on 51 - 2.

I reckon to win this one they have to bat all of Day 2 and get at least 100+ lead and hope to get the Aussies out again fairly cheaply. Knowing England it could all go wrong in a couple of hours though.

good to see a puff of life back in what looked like a dead series............enjoying the Monty entertainment too......he and Harmison bowled well in unison......which is something England has lacked all series.....

Still pretty even IMHO with the 2 England wickets last night........but I'm still thinkin' Aus as they get to bowl last on what will be a turning wicket......with warney!!!.....the man is an @ss but the bowler is unparalleled in history
agreed that it will be lucky to see a 5th day unless there is rain.....
