i think its kinda like what you guys do in futbol
my team, the boston red sox, paid 51million just for the right to negotiate with a 26yr old japanese pitcher, and will have to pay him another 35mil at least for 3 yrs!!

good thing for paulie; im going to japan; and im hoping my boston connection helps attain some ass!!

Yeah its the same thing in football.. The accepted the offer of 51million and now its up to the player to negotiate a contract for his wages and whether he want to leave or not... Some money though

Everton have tried to do the same thing (with limited success) on 2 fronts. First they brought in a number of Chinese players a few years back (like a number of other clubs in Europe!) to boost the squad on the cheap and increase sales of things like shirts and other merchandising in China. Then the other year they signed a shirt Sponsorship deal with Chang to have Chang on there shirts. This was meant to work both ways with Everton gaining support in THailand (Not sure why, because 99% of football shirts in see on locals are fakes!) and Chang securing a market presence in England. I even got a friend who now buys Chang here cos they sponsor his teams. This has never lead me to buy a Candy appliance or stock alot of Crown paints in my house!

Im gonna have to become an agent, if I dont win the Euromillions on Friday!
