I will not go tomorrow but some of the other days, I dropped my volunteer idea as I dont want to wake up 04.00 am, leaving Patong at 05 to be there at 06.

But will be interesting to hear Dodger and Duncan's insider stories as they will work there.

That's the second day Dodge 'n' Duncs have set off from here at 0515-ish. I couldn't sleep and was up having a coffee.........Perhaps why I couldn't sleep in the first place!

Had a laugh listening to thier tales of yesterday on the links and in particular Colin Montgomery's shenannigins.

I'm sure they will let everyone know how they got on when it's over.

I saw a Thai Air advert in the Bangkok Post today offering free admission tickets to the JWC for those that booked business class flights from BKK to HKT. So, there must be an admission price to spectate? Anyone know how much?

Wow, knackered but got to go out tonight cos we were harrassed into also marshalling there on Sunday, but we got a 6.45am start Sunday so a bit of a lie in.

Managed to get up at 4.30am on Thursday morning, did we prepare by going to bed early for a couple of night before??? oh no Tuesday night our preparation was sitting on the balcony until 4.30am in the morning with Gee and finishing yet another bottle of Rosso and about half a case of beers. Half dead on Wednesday night so we went to bed early??? Nope we ( Denver, Duncan and I) went to the Beer Garden to meet a new BM, Kornblom, stayed there until 11ish ish, sunk a few gallon of beers in the process and crashed asleep at midnight.

4.30am Thursday morning, it felt like I hadn't been asleep at all. We got to the course had our special marshalls issue teeshirts, caps and umbrella, umbrella may seem funny in a country that is two million degrees of sunshine everyday almost ,but it helps to keep in the shade and stop at being cooked to medium well instead of toally frazzled. Duncs worked the 3rd hole and I was on hole one and yep, I had my 15 seconds of fame, as I was on the tv about three times that night, spotted myself early on, neither GEE or Duncan saw me (yep it was that much media exposure) but then there I was, big ol smile pointing my little 'quite please' jibber.

Funny stories from the first day, Montgomery was walking from the first green to the second tee, an innocent little bloke was standing by this tree and taking pictures of all his favourite golfers, Monty stopped in his tracks, gave the guy the biggest scowel and said 'put the camera away.....NOW', he walked onto the 2nd tee looking like he had just swallowed a wasps nest and did a quick practise swing, about 10 yards down the fairway was three pro photographers, bang they got both barrels of the Monty temper and ended up scurrying away behind the bushes (remember this was only at the 2nd). A little later a Marshall put up his 'Quiet Please sign' and Monty turned round and said 'why have you put that up? put it down.....NOW' The next hole there I was doing my TV posing, happy as Larry, when we locked eyes, he looked furious so I just looked straight back at him and smiled. Luckily for me I think there was a delay on the tee and by the time we got a bit closer, he seemed to have cooled a bit.

At each hole a marshall has to ask the player or caddy his score at that hole so he can radio it back to the main scoreboard, which is then relayed round the course. At the first, after duffing his bunker shot, angrily smashing 3 foot of turf from the bunkers edge, the brave Marshall asked the Italian player, Molinari what was his score (it was bogey 5) he looked at the score taker and said 'I do not give my score to anyone, least of all you!!!', now he had a quandry as he has to know or the main scoreboard is devoid of the guys score and where heis etc in the competition. He asked the players caddy sheepishly to be ignored but luckily one of the other players caddy's told him.

Had a few little chats with various not famous players and especially their caddies. But day one was definately the day of unreserved madnees tantrums from players.

Day two, up again at 4.30am, funny thing is as we are leaving and driving to the course we see, loads of different blokes staggering back to thier hotels with their Thai girls and we are going the opposite way to work!!! this 4 letter word will probably be starred out by the moderators. Today I worked the 4th hole and it was much more relaxed than the 1st, Duncs was on the 3rd again. I chatted away quite merrily to loads of players and caddys today. Funniest bloke is (Ian?) Dyson, swears like an absolute trooper but in a really funny way. Jarmo Sandelin (swedish) borrowed the chair next to me, to have a rest and a bit of a chat. Think he was finding the heat really hard work, got up sunk a 15 foot putt, wandered back and sat down for another bit of pi$$ taking. When we walked to my tee he stepped up hit an absolute monster down the middle and turned to me a said in his best Arnie impersonation 'I'm back'

All told it has been a tiring two days, on your feet a lot, 12 hours with breaks in 34 degrees of sunshine, feet are killing me, but it is my hobby and therefore I have enjoyed every minute of it. Its great when you have finished and can use your Marshall position to be able to walk along with the players inside the ropes. Got to do it all again on Sunday and am looking forward to it.

Got loads more to say but the golf is on and my little fisog may be aired again to the public at large and I've got to make sure the editor got my best side.....
