For a lad of his age and talent to be riding in the best motorcycle class in the world and be on a Repsol Honda, you'd think he'd be a bit more excited about it..... geez the guy always looks so damn miserable

One answer.........would you be excited if you had taken the lead, then yourself been overtaken and led around the circuit for the best part of a race? He wants to be a winner, and its not happening. When was the last time Dani Pedrosa won a Moto GP race? Answers on a postcard 5555

Dawsey.... can understand him being p1ssed about not winning last weekends race but to be the best you have to beat the best, the race kinda reminded me of how Rossi used to intimidate Gibernau, toy with him and take him on last couple of laps, i think Rossi has a dislike for Spanish !!!!
Back to Pedrosa though, even before the race when the camera pans around all the riders, they all have a wave, smile or kiss to the camera but no, not Dismal Danny..... and i remember when he won his first Moto GP the post race interview depicted this guy had had a charisma by-pass operation !!

Congrats to Casey Stoner, deserved Moto GP champion 2007.
Bad luck to Rossi, lost it by not pitting earlier enough for slicks.
Good to see Capirossi winning and a very unusual podium lineup.

Can't to see what Michelin and Yamaha does next season. Bridgestone-shod teams really got competitive this year. Also looking forward to James Toseland being on the grid for Tech 3 Yamaha.

I agree. Both Michelin and Yamaha need to improve a lot. Toseland will be interesting to see in Moto GP, but there haven't been too many successes with riders stepping up from Superbikes.
IIRC, Toselands team-mate will be Colin Edwards who is leaving the works team.
I know he had a lot of negative stuff to say about Michelin so I wouldn't be surprised to see the Tech 3 team using Dunlop or Bridgestones.

Tech 3 isn't renewing their terms with Dunlops for 2008 so if they were to make a tire switch it would probably be to the Michelins. Edwards was their biggest tire tester. I think edwards was more critical of the tire rules than he was of the tires. The new tire rules pretty much eliminated the Saturday Night tire specials that would go to the top teams.

Anybody catch the WSBK final?
What a series and what a going-away race! Toseland squeaked it out by 2 points. Haga did everything he could in Race 1 and 2. All hail King James.

Yeah i watched it, Toseland did just enough without taking un-necessary risks. He was lucky to stay on his bike in the first race after the collision early on. Unlucky Haga but too much too late...
Will look forward to seeing Toseland next season in Moto GP i think he'll surprise a few people with his riding ability and hopefully make it a more competitive season

Stoners victory today, appeared to be like a walk in the park.
7 plus seconds to 2nd place.
No one could match him today.
Ducati also wrapped up the manufacturers championship today.

I believe he had a couple of outings on a 500 Cagiva in the Premier class.
The most notable being robbed of a podium finish by running out of fuel near the end of a race.He was a great superbike racer.
The most successful ex superbike racer in the premier class would have to be American Colin Edwards, with about 2 podium finishes to his credit after 3 or 4 seasons on the same machinery as Rossi.
Ex superbike racers just don`t cut it in the premier class.

Not sure Haslam ever won a GP. Niall Mackenzie was also put up a lot of points w/o a GP win. After some googling, I think the last time a Brit won in the premier class was in 81 when Barry Sheene won the Swedish Gran Prix.
John Hopkins is an American born to English parents. I think that's the closest they've got in Recent years.

From another website:...Good for a laugh.
I hear Rossi is thinking of changing his nickname from "The Doctor" to "The Proctologist"... seeing he's spent so much time looking at other riders backsides this year.

Dont really get Superbike coverage here, but which is harder to ride?
Is superbike faster?

MotoGP. It's basically the F1 version of motorcycle racing. GP bikes there are less restrictions in GP and factories and race teams basically build and develop their bikes from the ground up. The Superbike class uses highly modified versions of production streetbikes which are basically bikes that you or I can buy at a dealership. The lap time difference for Phillip Island for example is 1'30.801 for GP and 1'31.826 for Superbike. The speed difference is doesn't seem so big but keep in mind this year they bumped the displacement down in GP from 1000cc to 800cc. So basically the GP bikes are going around the track faster with smaller engines.

I don`t think "Rocket Ron" ever won a 500cc GP either. He was always in the first 5 to 10 place getter`s on the Elf Honda.
Niall Mackenzie was also a front runner but never won a 500cc GP either.
