F#1 Points Scoring

I dont know bout other members, but i really find the F#1 points scoring system ridiculous now.

Since the change, from 10-6 to 10-8, it's too close.

L.HAMILTON is leading the standings now and he has not even won a race.

If he continues to get 2nd and Alonso, Massa and Raikkonen continue to battle for 1st place, Hamilton might even be champion.

At least in MotoGP, 1st and 2nd is 5 points difference, F#1 is only 2.

Ooh well, at least i am watching more of MotoGP now, good bye F#1.

Nautilus, there's been a few bike champions over the yrs that never won a race during the season either.

Andrew Pitt & Emilio Alzamora are 2 that come to mind.

I hear what you're saying..................But, the arguement we all keep hearing is............It's all about consistency.

Nicky Hayden only had 2 gp wins in 06 to claim the title as opposed to Rossi with 5 wins....Hayden had one DNF.....Rossi had 3.

Hayden won last years title by default. He wasn't/isn't a patch on Rossi, Pedrosa, even Colin Edwards yet he just kept picking up the points finishing behind.
Made me quite sad to see such a rider winning like that.

Oh, dont really know much bout Bike Champions, doing some reading on them now.

Thank you for the information.

Consistency yes, but i think it's really unfair.

Cheers.

There used to be a saying " There's no prize for coming second" but that doesn't seem to apply now , how anybody can 'possibly' be classed as 'World Champion' without winning a race makes a mockery of any competition.

2 big problems with F1:

it's the cars that win races not the drivers.

no overtaking (very little).

In both these respects A1 has got it right but it is still a poor relation to F1 :/

Similar thing here in Australia with last years v8supercars, person that won the championship keep getting the podiums but not the wins. However at the start of the season everyone knows how the points work and at the end of the season there is a champion based on those points. If you dont win the championship, the driver/team just wernt good enough. As for f1's cant wait till next year when there is no more traction control/launch control, bet there will be a few more dnf's out there

I like the 'boost' in A1 (do you get 1 single engine boost every lap?) and there is more passing than in F1 where the only passing seems to be done at the pit stops - i mean the commentators only ever talk about who is doing what pit stop strategy and running how much fuel because there is never much 'racing' going on.

Singapore just got an F1 GP for next year and it may be the first ever F1 night race - i would make a trip for that!

Anyone has the layout of the "track" ?

Singapore hold great events.
