Crazy penalty shoot-out!
Last night was the semi finals of the European Championships for national teams under 21. The game was between The Netherlands and England.

After extra time it finished 1-1 and then a total of 32 penalties were taken. 16 for each team.
Finally Holland won it. Without trying to be chauvinistic, I think the victory was a deserved one.

But I never saw such a crazy penalty shoot-out before.

Never actually saw it...But its all over the news...Game lasted over 3 hours...

That's amazing, considering that both Holland and England suck at taking penalties in the senior ranks!!

That's right. Just look at the recent history of Holland and penalty shoot-outs...
EC 1992: Lost to Denmark in the semi finals.
EC 1996: Lost to France in the quarter finals.
WC 1998: Lost to Brazil in the semi finals.
EC 2000: Lost to Italy in the semi finals.

And finally... for once we were lucky as we beat Sweden (sorry Nicke ) in the quarter finals of the EC 2004.
Hopefully the tide has changed now...

we watched it in work yesterday
even the goalie scored!!

Vancouver has the Under 21 World Cup next month
i am going to a few games

Yes, as it went on and on, the goalies also had to take a penalty. The game lasted for over 3 hours. Almost like a Stanley Cup play-off game!

Hope you will see a couple of good games there Marc, so enjoy yourself. I actually don't think our team is playing there as well.
