IJ you are right about the Pats, totally stacked. They finally got some decent help at receivers as well... imagine that. They should be tough this year and I thnk they will take down the Colts. My Cowboys got a new head coach this year so Im looking forward to their defense coming on stronger then last year when they fell aprt towards the end. ant wait till football.

Vick is a moron for the dogfighting (if he did do it). Honestly I dont think anything will happen to him, but we will see. I think Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will step in and all will forget about the criime and focus on something else.

you are insane!! he is going to jail. his boys are already starting to flip on him and testify against him. there is also new charges being brought. there is way too much pressure to let him walk
he may only go to jail for a year
also, the judge presiding over his case is really strict

He won't play this year! As Paul said, he is well ****ed, as his boys are rolling over on him, and the Feds will go easy on them to nail Vick, 'cause he is the big name.

It will take the better part of a year to try him, then another year to appeal the verdict against him, then he will lose and do SIX YEARS hard time. When he gets out of jail, he will be 35 yrs old, and won't have the wheels anymore, and no team would want PETA staging protests at their games anyway, which would happen if he took the field again.

The stupid bastard was making $13 mil salary and another $7 mil in endorsement money. Total = $20 mil per year. I reckon before all is said and done he will have lost over $100 mil for his stupidity, cruelty, and the arrogance to think he could get away with it.

Too many people are way too pissed off for him to get off easy on this. You won't see Jesse or Al sticking up for him on dog-fighting charges. They will stay as far away as possible because no one wants the bad publicity that will be attached to him to rub off on them.

It wasn't just the badly injured losing dogs which sometimes got killed. And at least they got a bullet to the head.

The pups they bred, who were just too sweet and not very aggressive, that did not take well to the idea of fighting with other dogs were killed by drowning them, or hanging them, or picking them up by their hind quarters and slamming them against the ground, as since they did not want to fight, they had no further use for them.

There's no such emoicon to display my emotions right now. - The Simpsons

I don't get it Vick is an NFL quarterback making upwards of $20 mil a year... What does he need a dog fighting ring for?

But anyways, go Bears. Pats looked pretty well stacked as well. Bears have the easier schedule (again) compared to the quality of their team.

Trust me I hope he does go to the monkey house. I told my mom about it, she is part of PETA and runs a pet adoption unit in our neighborhood. Man, thats all she talks about now. Im just thinking cos of who he is.... he will get off. Sharpton and Jackson come in and deflect the case. OR really high prices lawyers. How many times have we seen someone get off? Thats how much faith I have in the system here... sorry to say.

Im wondering how th Chargers will do this years with their Def. Coord. going to the Cowboys. Their defense was really good last year. They are the only California team I can stand.
The Bears I have not heard too much about this off season. They lost a safety the other day. I dont think they will go far with an inconsistant Rex. Griese maybe?

The Pats are definitely a head above any other team in the AFC right now with that offense. Latest reports out of training camp though have Moss taking himself out of team practice with a sore hammy. Considering Randy doesn't exactly have a reputation for toughing it out and playing through injuries there might be cause for concern. Still I think the Pats should be able to count on at least one relatively unselfish season out of him. Other than that there are at least 4 or 5 other teams in the AFC who could go all the way. In the end though one of them will have to get past the Pats like the Colts did last year. After that they might as well hand the Lombardi trophy to whoever wins the AFC Championship. Dojo, Rex was inconsistent as h*ll last year and the Bears still got to the Super Bowl. If he cuts the atrocious games by say half that should be more than enough. If Benson turns out to be a good reliable featured running back (a somewhat big if I have to admit) the Bears should have the most stacked offense in the NFC (and yes, that includes the Saints). Now that they have Greg Olsen they plan to go with a lot more 2 tight end sets. There's really not a defense in the NFC that can match up with that -- a defense would need 2 linebackers with enough speed to cover both tight ends respectively and only one defense comes to mind with that kind of personnel -- the Bears! And with Briggs re-signing, Tommie Harris and Mike Brown healthy again, and Adam Archuleta and Darwin Walker there to provide depth at safety and tackle respectively, the defense should be about as dominant as it was last year. The Bears look like the class of a truly pathetic NFC.

I'm with you on this one. No all the way but a good showing.

As for Vick, he's screwed. Would have been better of getting caught buggering the dogs. Or killing a neighbor. He will never be a marquee player again. What owner wants their star getting booed at every game.
