New Kit for 08/09

Looks like we've finally (maybe, possibly) tied-up the Jo deal for 19 million quid. Fee agreed with CSKA Moscow and announcement expected Monday.........not sure if this will tempt Ronaldhino.

AND...........

New kit for the upcoming season and a vast improvement on last season, hated the pin-stripes and hated the purple away kit. We've gone back to the glory days of the late 60's early 70's for the away kit - Malcolm Allison's and AC Milan's black and red.

Geez, after seeing this photo from last nights friendly, I hope he's not tempted....

The press dubbed him "Gordinho" which apparently means little fatty. Mind you, he still scred twice.....

Update........

A lot has been happening over the last few days....

Jo deal completed. Dunne signed new 4yr deal. Sun Jihai to Sheff Utd. Isaksson to PSV. Geovanni to Hull. Also released Mpenza, Dickov.

Yosser has got them all at a training camp in Southern Germany.......it's all "up at dawn", "ice-cold showers", boot-camp philosophy....

Now, the most interesting bit of news, coming out of Spain.........Ronaldinho's brother and agent, Roberto, is supposedly meeting City this week-end to finalize the deal..........announcement next week?????

Bring on EB/Streymur!!!

Reports today that city want to sign Brad Friedel.....

Joe Hart is a good keeper , but i rate Friedel in the top 3 in the premiership, would be a great addition for you bitter blues ......

Ronaldinho says no to Man City, prefer to play in Milan apparently.

Could be true, it would make perfect sense after all.

The ongoing saga of Ronaldinho's transfer seems to be over. Latest reports are that he agreed a deal with AC Milan last night at about 10pm.

He baulked at the way City wanted to financially structure the deal.
City wanted to withhold at least 50 per cent of his staggering £200,000-aweek wage demands based on his fitness, appearances, goals, commercial activities and their position in the Barclays Premier League.

City stated that if Ronaldinho was fit to play regularly, scored plenty of goals, sold plenty of shirts and helped the club into the top six then he would be paid in full.

A source close to the Brazilian said "Ronaldinho does not do auditions.."

Cheeky bastad...........

Why would Man City try to withhold 50% of a players wages and impose pathetic conditions on a player as in a top 6 finish, is'nt football a team sport because i was always under the impression 1 man doesn't make a team, as there were other clubs willing to give the same deal but without the restrictions it looks like the offer by Man City was never a serious one especially in the eyes of Ronaldinho.

Errr, other clubs? What other clubs?

The reports this morning suggest AC Milan have offered somwhere between 13 and 17 million. City offered 23 million on Monday...........nobody offered the same deal but without restrictions.........

However, was it a serious offer from city? One report suggested that season ticket sales increased fairly dramatically at the prospect of Ronaldinho possibly signing....has it all been a clever marketing ploy?

I think i agree with City on this , they were probably worried that he would come on his massive wages, play a couple of games and then have one injury after another for the rest of the season, and then just sit in the stands getting fatter .
At one stage last season Frank Rikaard questioned if he was really injured at Barcelona . £25 Million was way over the top for the transfer fee aswell. City would be better off signing some up and coming youngsters like Arsenal do, who are still hungry to win things ....

AC Milan's "pathetic conditions".........

"The principle of agreement finally established a transfer fee of 21 million euros [£19.8million], plus four million euros [£3.1million] more in the form of performance-related bonuses depending on AC Milan's qualification, in future years, for the Champions League."
