Golf 2007-2008

Hey all,
Did some searching, and this looks like a good website to try and procure online discounts for golf in the phuket area.
Phuket golf courses and country clubs in Thailand

Was wondering what are the better driving ranges to practice on, as the turf covered wooden practice tees at PCC did very little for me. Well other than earn glares from the caddies that consistantly had to refill thier sand/grass seed mixture every 3 holes after my mishits. Screw practice, maybe I should play every day.

Also is there any local in newspaper discounts, or any local coupon books? The Laguna look at our time shares, or condo's seems a bit dodgy.

Screw it I'm buying a new putter for my next trip .

Get a PEGS card (phuket expat golf society) saves its membership fees after only a couple of rounds..

DRIVING RANGES IN PHUKET

Phuket Country Club (Kathu) synthetic mats
Loch Palm (Kathu) synthetic and grass
Mountain View (Chalong) synthetic
Laguna (Cherng Talay) synthetic
Mission Hills (Thalang) synthetic
Blue Canyon (Thalang) synthetic and grass

Most of the above also have chipping and putting greens to practice on.
Prices for driving range usually 50 baht for 50 balls.

Regarding discounted green fees there are a couple of shops in kathu which offer discounts when booked through them. When you come to Phuket PM me and i'll give you more details. Most the expats that live here are members of the Phuket Expat Golf Society (PEGS) which entitles discounts at most the golf clubs on certain days.

you can find out more details on PEGS at Home

Hope the above helps with your golfing needs

PEGS is however not for tourists.

Atleast two shops in Kathu sell discount green fee tickets.

Reminds me I need to play and keep my score cards for three 18 hole rounds, as I dont have a handicap with PEGS yet. I play just 9 holes most of the time.

I was tourist when i first came here, knowing about the expat golf society was just another plus point for making my stay permanent.... tourist or not its a case of who you know not what you know..... i.e i know tourists who have PEGS cards

Nicke, the weather of late has not exactly been fit for 18 holes, i've also been doing 9
