The new story of Paul Byrd buying $25K of HGH a few years back is probably not a good distraction for a team going into a big game...

SI.com - MLB - Report: Indians pitcher Byrd spent $25K on HGH - Sunday October 21, 2007 11:26AM

im headed to Denver on Saturday for game 3

all this good fortune last years for Boston is bittersweet for me
my brother, best oerson i ever knew, was killed 4 months before Pats won their 1st SB
so whenever something happens like last night, i always get a little sad for a moment because he never got to see all this
and i know id be flying him out to Denver on Saturday if he was still around

but i sure wont be flying my other bro out, hes a pain in the ass 55555

What I find to be a "typical Yankees fan" did not dissapoint me today. I have said nothing until prevoked to about the Yankees not buying another World Series again. Other day I walk down the street and this guy was holding up 1 finger(not the middle) to represent the one game needed to eliminate the Sox. That was when series was 3-1.

Today, I am biting my tongue not saying anything about the win last night, and he just spouts out "Colorado is my favourite team now". Much of my hate for the Yankees is due to their fans.

Baseball season is over in NY and all I see in the back pages is Torre-Yankees. They get as much press off season as they do on. Yankee fans are fair-weather fans. It takes real balls (and stupidity) to be a Mets fan like me.

Boston College is number #2 in the polls. Patriots, Red Sox and now their big college team. Speaking of college football I saw UCLA beat Cal at the Rosebowl saturday, sitting with my daughter in the student section. Great game.

Rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for the house at a casino. Come on dealer hit that 21. All this Yankee manager crap is BS. Do you think Mattingly can manage with no experience? Please. Go Sox.

Here is Letterman's Top 10 List of Reasons Joe Torres Quit:

10. Yankees wanted to pay him in Radio Shack gift certificates
9. Got caught stealing Rosin bags
8. Joining cast of the Broadway musical "Legally Blonde"
7. Wants to manage a winning team like the Colorado Whatever-Their-Name-Is
6. Couldn't bear the grind of sitting on his ass watching baseball another second
5. Looking to focus on managing his fantasy baseball team
4. Wants to go someplace more peaceful -- like Fallujah
3. 5 million dollars a year -- how's the man supposed to live?
2. Doesn't want to be working when he's 90, like Letterman
1. Even Yogi Berra told him, "It's over"

Bonds

Bonds being charged with perjury and obstruction of justice.

IMO could not happen to a bigger lying jerk! What pro athlete head, feet, and whole body grows years into their pro sports career? What pro athlete does not know what he is putting in or on his body.

Bonds has tarnished what was the best record in baseball or all of sports.

Looks like the Tankees are going to sign A-Rod again. Glad to hear it. He has brought them such good things since being a part of the team. 55555

funny how he tried to jerk around the Yankees, Boras made an a-hole of himself by announcing A-Rods plans to void contract during Game 4 WS, Boras shops A-Rod and finds out that $350 million is not going to happen, then A-Rod pretty much locks Boras out and signs for $275 million, probably less than Yanks would have given him before when Texas was paying $24 million of it.

Glad to see Boras will made less money. Guy is a real jerk.

Now Yanks have to hope that young pitchers develop fast, could have a very good rotation in a few years. Hughes, Kennedy, Wang, and Chamberlain. Maybe Beckett can be #5 starter for Yanks by then.55555555555555555

Good luck next year. Will be interesting again.
