Balshaw and Wilkinson both had shockers against Wales and should have been dumped. Nick Easter coming back should be a big plus, he had a great WC.
The way they shaped up against Wales, I wouldn't be surprised if this was a very, very tight game. Oh dear....

I see Tait and Wigglesworth in the replacements, should both be starting to my mind.

After the game that Ian Balshaw had last week he must have compromising pictures of Brian Ashton to still be in the team.

He must have something on him. Ashton should be more ruthless. No way is Balshaw the best full back England can field. In fact I'd say he isn't the 4th best full back.

England are going to have to play for the full 80 against Italy.
Nick Mallet is a good coach and he would have picked out a few area's in the English game that they can exploit.
Italy also do not have a bad tight five and will be competitive come scrum time.

I agree. Italy have a very strong and physical front five. Big blow for England today losing Sheridan to injury (absess around his achilles tendon)
Interesting side Ashton has picked, and apart from Tait at full back, the team I'd go with. Glad to see Nick Easter back at No8. He had a good RWC.
England latest news here

Italys front row will relish this 555

Well after last weeks poor predictions only 1 out of 3 correct I'll try again.
Has to be a home win for France and i'd put them favourites for the Championship, An away win for England it wont be easy but they should shade it.
Its not so easy to call the Wales Scotland match they are usually open matches with a few tries, I tipped Wales to loose last week so maybe I should stick to the same formula but hopefully we will get a win as I will be in Cardiff watching the match.
OK a win for Wales.

England v. Italy.... will be a question of who waves the white flag first.... and based on last weeks performance you wouldn't bet against the English !!!

I was just listening to the IRB podcast.
Brian Ashton comes across as a total twat in my book.
"We had 6 bad minutes, wales didn't have to do anything to score 17 points"
Very gracious.
So remember England are only beaten when they lose it themselves....55555.
Wales were riddled with mistakes in the first half and once they eliminated those mistakes, they gave themselves the platform to play some rugby. The official IRB stats are very interesting..
So maybe the take could be that if Wales hadn't made so many mistakes in the first half, they'd have anihillated a very poor England side.

France v Ireland Has a history of being a good game, as does Wales v Scotland.
I am at a big function tonight with a fair few rugby enthusiasts. I've3 been told the hotel has set up a back of house area with a TV for the games.
The wives are gonna kill us when they find out 5555

Poor first half, better in the 2nd. Wales victory never in doubt, but helped by a try wrongly awarded. You didn't miss much Jonny.
