Manchester City = Citizens, City, or Sky Blues Citizens developed from City, sky blues from kit.
Coventry also due to kit colour.
You can argue that Tottenham are also the lilly whites too. The we can include 'the blues' for chelsea/birmingham/ipswich etcas all are applicable

I just remember it from my cigarette card collection, when I was a boy and Coventry's official nick name then was the Sky Blues. Blues applies to loads of teams, even on City's website they refer quite often to them as the blues but its not their official nickname.
Reckon I should have done a bit of googling before posting this, because Hobbo knows more about football than me, okay will go off and do some in a minute, don't reply for a few minutes Rob, give me a chance with my one fingered typing!!!!

The Cottagers?...where do you see that?
i suppose the troupe walking through the garden could be Saints or Pilgrims?
Hatters is Luton.
The Pool (in the garden) is Hartlepool
LilyWhites is Preston North End
If allowed the same thing twice there's Gulls - Torquay United as well as Seagulls....and the two boys as well as being the TractorBoys could also be The Sons - Dumbarton.
