Minute's Silence at OT
What are the odds on it getting ugly this afternoon when they try for a minute's silence at Old Trafford?
I will be seriously impressed if they pull it off.

Poor show if it does get ugly.
But you only need a handful of morons in a big crowd to turn it nasty.
A shame if it does.

It's been really well done, both teams are wearing comemorative kits and the mascots had the names of the victims on their shirts. All the fans were given old style red white and black comemorative scarves on the way in.
Everyone in the ground respected the silence, I had my doubts but it was good.

Those goals were just a thank you to the City fans for behaving themselves. We will start playing after the hairdryer has been deployed at half time

England won the 20-20 last week in NZ but didn't do so well in the first 50 over match lost by 130 runs, But I like this quote from Colingwood on selection for 2nd match
But Collingwood said: "This side has been successful in the past and we've been pretty consistent with selection."
Can I ask where they had success.
Oh and by the way, Argentina took us (GB) in the Davis cup tennis rubber,

That result has made my day
I did begin to wonder if Utd would lose another game this season.
Gives a little hope to Chelsea. Only have to beat Liverpool today 5555

I take that back....Just found this on wikipedia:
"Manchester derbies in the 1970s were frequently bad tempered. In the December 1970 derby, a tackle by George Best broke the leg of Glyn Pardoe, the severity of the injury almost resulted in the City defender losing his leg. The following season, an entertaining 3-3 draw saw Francis Lee and George Best accuse each other of diving. The first derby of the 1973/74 season saw Mike Doyle and Lou Macari each receive a red card in a dour contest which finished 0-0. Both players refused to leave the pitch, leading the referee to take both teams back to the dressing room until the two players accepted their dismissals."
Geez.....and I just made a comment about the good old days of honest sporting rivalry on the City thread....

OK, done a bit of investigation. Utd have only done the double over City a measley 12 times the last time being as long ago as the 2006/07 season (you remember when it was called the "premier league").
They also did it 3 times during the 90's when the two sides met 14 times and City failed to win once (Utd won 9 of the 14 with the remainder being draws).
City have done the double over Utd in 1930/31, 1954/55 and the last time during the 1969/70 season when the two sides met an incredible 5 times in one season with a draw and a win for City in the league cup and a Utd win in the FA cup. (It was also 1-0 and 2-1 in the league for City that season.)

Heh I have just finished watching Man Utd Vs Man City game for the third time, during this period, City have scored 6 goals but utd have only scored 3???? think there must be something wrong with my stupd Pioneer lump of crap TV and am taking it back to the shop for a refund or a new one, tried thumping it a few times, but nope it still keeps showing City scoring twice and Utd only getting a concellation goal in the last minute???? even tried replaying the earlier game in the season and on that one no matter how many times I replay it, Utd do not even score one goal!!!!!! Never used to happen when I had a proper british tv!!!
