Pga (2008)

Well another year, another 4 majors. How many will Tiger win? Hell will he even lose a tournament this year? Here are a few predictions:

Masters winner: Tiger Woods
US Open winner: Adam Scott
The Open winner: Henrik Stenson
PGA winner: Tiger Woods

Cheers
SW

You can't bet against Tiger winning the lot really. The guy is on a different planet to the rest.

Anyone think Ernie is a spent force now with regard to the majors ?

Sorry brain not in gear this morning but what about this sensational german guy or the new irish kid??

Yeah not very informative that post, so the irish lad is it Mcilroy??? and the german something ending in 'man.

Okay I'll go look it up on the internet, but then I will loose my turn and people will start thinking I'm copying researchy bm types, anyway, you guys will come into this thread sooner or later and post the guys real names.

I also reckon Justin might be in the frame for some serious winnings this year!!

Majors sometimes throw up winners no one expects to win.

Last years The Masters, Zach Johnson??

Who was he before that, where is he now??

No doubt Tiger will be right up there in contention for all though.

I tend to agree IJ.

This may be a "grand slam" year for Tiger.

He's looking awfully good, so far.

(who's Justin Rose? 55555)

In my opinion, the best to ever play the game. As a golfer, I am just blown away by some of things he does on the course. 190 yard 9 iron, from the rough, over trees....STIFF.

Do you think that his only real rival for "best ever", Jack Nicklaus, had far harder opposition to beat when he was in his prime?

I've had this discusion with my best friend(big Jack fan). My question is: If Tiger was worse by 1 stroke, say,per 36 holes. Would his competion be better?
or.....?

Its very rare Tiger wins by only one or two strokes isn't it. Point taken.
Maybe the same question could be asked of Jack?

But its unfair to answer my question with another 55555555

THAT is exactly what my friend say's!!!

At that point, I always cover my ear's with my hands, close my eyes, and jump up and down repeating.....Tiger is better, Tiger is better Sometimes it takes as long as 5 minutes before he leaves the room. I win.555

I'd say Tiger drives the ball further, is a lot longer and more accurate with is iron shots and is a better putter than Jack ever was......

sure technology has played a part in this but compare swings....Jack's was an ugly brute and Tiger's is a thing of pure strength + beauty.....also check out the fitness levels of the two guys in their prime.....its a hands down tiger win

and there are plenty of players about today I reckon who would give Jack a good hiding by comaparisons on their peaks as well.....its just that they are not considered great because they can't beat Tiger....well no one can consistently

what they do both share is a complete focus on winning and a never give up attitude....in short they both have the atitude that they can't be beaten...and they arent/werent often

During the the Accenture match play tournament at the weekend, they showed a like for like vid clips of Tiger walking up the fairway on the present day and a clip from 1996 when he was an amateur wearing his infamous red shirt on the final day.

He was such a scrawny kid back then and has developed his finely tuned body into that of an athlete. His natural ability as a golfer is immense but his physical prowess and strength is also a huge factor towards his success i believe...

I watch in awe at a golfer in a completely different league...

In a moment of weakness (p!ssed again) I bet a mate that Tiger wouldn't catch Jacks Major tally. I fear the worst .

Mind you eighteen Major wins and eighteen second places isn't too shabby, and you can only beat the guys who are there so comparisons are difficult.

Thats ok Den, Johnny Miller said after watching Tiger at a very young age said "he is going to win 50 tour events and 10 majors" all the INTHEKNOW golfers around him laughed....

This humble poster say's 25 majors and 100 P.G.A wins...plus many Euro events. (of course im predicting this NOW 555)
