Calzaghe v Hopkins
Just over a month to go until the big fight .....
My money is on Joe on points , I think his workrate will be just too much for Hopkins. Plus joe has a great chin. What does everyone think....
Do any of the American bm's think your man can win ?

Afraid not danboy. I need my beauty sleep
Really hoping that Joe wins tonight and that should set him up nicely for a final payday against Roy Jones.

well, what can i say, outcome was as expected. but i cant help feeling a little wanting for me from Joe. i think it is a damn shame he never established himself in the US. you can blame people ducking him, happens all the time in boxing to anyone that is good, but he should have made sacrifices to come to US and prove himself. fighting a couple of washed up fighters, Roy Jones next?, is just not going to give him the credibility he desrves. I would be impressed if he take a fight with Pavlick and does well. im sure the UK will have a say in this, but plain and simple, just as in football a star in MLS still needs to go over to Europe and prove himself, Joe needs to in States
i do want to point out the class of the Welsh fans, but coming after having to deal with the hooligans that follow Hatton, that is easy to do. the Welsh were spirited and demostrative without being disrespectful.
also, take note, the class of US fans(although not many there 555) that sat quietly and respected the Wales National Anthem, unlike the low class Hatton fans

Although i think Calzaghe showed great character to not let the 1st round knock down effect him, i was too a little disappointed with Joe....i thought it was one of his poorest performances, although Hopkins is a tricky customer. I had Calzaghe winning by 2 points ....
I think Calzaghe only wants one more fight, so a mega bucks home coming in Cardiff against Jones jnr , a fight he feels he could probably win easily would suit him...
Think Pavlik would be a tricky fight, and nobody wants to go out on a defeat..

good analysis
and definitely agree
but i feel is legacy in over-all boxing wont be what it should be without proving himself in the states( and i say this because i like him)
