Hockey Night is Back!

Curious to know if any other BM's are hockey fans?
I'd like to know what any Swedish hockey fans think of the NHL being back next season since that is where most players went to play last year.

I'm glad hockey is back but right now the Riders are 3-1 so I'm distracted.

Well...
We are short of attractions this winter, even i some players has decided to stay home and play in sweden.
It has been good for Swedish hockey to get them back, and to get more kids interested in hockey.
But the Swedish clubs has lost alot of money this winter. Salarys that the ordinairy players only can dream about, and that even if they have had full house every game.
But i must say that in all, it has been a little disappointment to see them play.. i dont know if it is because The Swedish league is good, or that the referees are to strict, but they didnt dominate as i thought they would.
On the other hand there is alot of hooking allowed. To much and it destroys the game completely.. Slashing is another thing that destroy the game too. I really hope the referees get more instructions to end that shit...

But im looking forward to see the NHL start. No matter what, it is in NHL the best players are... With hard competition from Russia now. Heard that they offer the players ridicioulus sums to play there..

Lets get ready to ruuuuummmble...

Well I loved the sport when I was younger, but since a decade or so we don't really have a Hockey league here in our small country. So for the last years lost focus to the point where I didn't even know that the NHL didn't play last year. Why not?

But still if I get the chance I will watch as it is one of those sports that really gets your adrenaline going

Yay! It has been a boring "winter" with the lockout. Looking forward to watching more hockey games, well that is if ESPN is going to broadcast the games in Singapore.

It's gonna make for a very interesting year next season. I think we'll see a lot of players wanting to go where their buddies play and where they've got a better shot at winning the Cup. Finally, it won't be all about $$$.

They didn't play last year because the owner's locked the players out. The existing collective bargaining agreement expired and they couldn't reach a new one until this week. The owners got a 24% roll-back on salaries, plus a salary cap, plus a ton of others. Finally, the players took something other than a puck in their teeth.

ESPN actually walked away from their NHL contract for next season. Hopefully they are able to reach a new agreement as ESPN gets into so many houses abroad.

Bummer! Well, hope either ESPN or other Asian sports station will pick it up. What is the chance of TSN doing that? lol. Actually I still prefer the broadcast from CBC. Sure miss Hockey Night in Canada.
