Yesterday NEC beat Vitesse 1-0 , our (see my avatar) biggest rivals and enemy's. The day was extra special because it was our 1000 st game in the highest devision and now we are in 4th place.

A lot of the European leagues are now "shutting down" for a mid-winter break and I saw this fixture but it was the only one for the Dutch league this weekend I think, therefore I didn't select it for the competition fixture list as I thought it might get postponed due to bad weather. Once the league gets going again in the New Year, I'll try and make sure that they (NEC) get included on a few weekends.

Thx Diz, i am afraid our second half of the seison won't be this good. Although you never know right. This year there will be for the first time a differend way of giving away the european tickets. We play competition untill march and from then there will be a play off system between numbers 2 untill 9. They hope to make it more exciting this way. I don't know if i like it or not , i have to see it first.

I can't find the result of the remaining Irish game. As soon as I find out what it is, I will update the stats page accordingly.

Any Irish BM's know the result ?? Ally ??

Don't worry, I've finally found it, the BBC (stupid sods) show the fixtures on their website, but don't seem to care about posting the results !!

Glentoran 1 Ballymena 2

I'll be updating my site when I get in tonight, I reckon from 9pm onwards (UK time) my site will be fully updated.

Everything is up to date now.

It is seems from some of the answers that I have had so far for this weekend's Bonus Question, that some people may not have understood what is required. If anyone is in any doubt, then please ask. I have made a couple of posts here already which try to explain what is required.

If you are fully confident of your own predictions, then you should be able to work out what your answer is from your own predictions. For example...

Match 1 : 2-0 = match total of 2 goals
Match 2 : 1-0 = match total of 1 goal
Match 3 : 2-2 = match total of 4 goals
Match 4 : 3-0 = match total of 3 goals
Match 5 : 2-0 = match total of 2 goals
Match 6 : 0-2 = match total of 2 goals
Match 7 : 1-2 = match total of 3 goals
Match 8 : 1-1 = match total of 2 goals
Match 9 : 0-1 = match total of 1 goal
Match 10 : 1-3 = match total of 4 goals

The answer I am after is those 10 match totals when multiplied together, which means that the above is 2x1x4x3x2x2x3x2x1x4 which gives a total of 2,304. This is because 2x1(=2)x4(=8)x3(=24)x2(=48)x2(=96)x3(=288)x2(=576) x1(=576)x4(=2,304).

If there are any 0-0 results, then the total will be 0 i.e. ZERO this is because zero multplied by "any number" = zero and also "any number" multiplied by zero = zero. Therefore it doesn't matter where the 0-0 scores appears, i.e. match 1, match 7, match 10 etc, the answer will be zero.

However, if you do decide to go for zero and there is no 0-0 result, then you will be a long way off the actual total, so beware !!

Talking Damn upgrade !!

After some glitches from the last few weeks, I thought that this weekend I would make sure that everything was OK with all the stats etc for the Football Competition, so I double checked everything and finally published everything to the internet late last night - only to see this morning that the latest table didn't make it across !!

I did come up with the idea of putting 2 league tables on my "stats" webpage, so that everyone could see how they fared compared to the previous week. Trouble is, the page currently shows last weeks table twice !!

I will sort this out tonight so that the up-to-date table can be seen tomorrow, the only other thing I'll say at the moment is "well done Mav", who shot up from 11th to 6th as a result of this weekend's scores !! He top scored with 24 points from the forecasts and was awarded 10 points for being closest to guessing the correct total for the bonus question as well. Nice one fella !!

F*ck, after winning six matches in a row we lost again last weekend. First time also we didn't keep the 0. But the worst part is our trainer resigned yesterday He says there are structural problems between him and the top of the club.

WBC what is the name of the team you follow ?......is it actually called NEC ?....if so l think l saw a documentary on it (Euro Football documentary) where the team changed it's name to the major company in the town, who employs a vast majority of it's population.....if so what did the team used to be called and when was it changed ?
