Football (Soccer) Competition
It looks like Diz is deleting all his threads and posts from the forum,and has stated on his own website he will not be posting here again??

Thanks dawsey, I was going to do this and suppose I should have done it first.
As far as I am concerned, the football competition will continue as normal providing that you guys carry on sending your forecasts. If you wish to contact me regarding anything to do with the comp then you can use the email address football@dizbuster.com which is also quoted on the webpage.

Sometimes you might not like the call, but another time someone else will feel that they got the short end of the stick. But somebody's got to make the call!! You can't please all of the people all of the time. The fact that they have pissed off a fair few of us at times, and most anyone who has been here awhile at least once, is just the proof that they are trying to be as fair as they can and still maintain order, and an atmosphere that is not unduly hostile or critical, so that the Board can be enjoyed by everyone, without listening to the irritating static of BMs who get into beefs with each other.Once I owned a house with an apartment downstairs. I rented the apt. to a young couple who were newlyweds. When the "honeymoon" was over between them after a few months, they began to get in arguments almost daily, yelling and screaming at each other, with the odd thrown plate or lamp smashing into something. The people upstairs, who had been quite happy living there, moved out. When trying to rent it again, people would ask about the people downstairs. I would say, "Well, they're quite nice, aside from the fact that they do get in the occasional row with each other!" Most people upon hearing that, would make their excuses and be off, even though it was a very nice house at a quite reasonable rate. Finally, I thought, I just can't do this! Unless I lie to people, I'll either never rent it or get someone who is worse than the newlyweds. So I pulled the ad, and gave the folks downstairs an eviction notice. Cost me a fair bit of change for the eviction, the loss of rent on the vacant upstairs, the rent I lost when they quit paying me after receiving the notice, the court costs, and the vacancy while finding a new tenant for downstairs. The point is that nobody likes to listen to other people arguing!!  It has nothing to do with who started the argument, or who is right or wrong! That simply doesn't matter! And the person in charge has got to put an end to it or everyone suffers!Only my opinon. JayBee

So come on guys, get those football entries in and let have some fun. I'll be around, a lot more than you think and if you have experience of using chat rooms, then you might understand what I mean when I say that I plan to do a lot more "lofting" from now on. Hi Diz,
Sorry to hear that you will not be taking as active a part in the forum as you used to. I was not on the forum when things went sour so do not know what happened but obviously wish you could work it out with the moderators. I can understand both sides of the issue. Hope you come back. diz,
this is my 2cents worth, coming from a guy who has met you and thought you were one of the nicer, more intelligent guys ive met on my travels. we had some nice talks and fun. but i will tell you, honestly, you can come off a little harsh on the board. i undersatnd your attitude about being blunt and direct, you will not meet a more direct person than me, i say what i belive. it just on a forum, sometimes it is hard to get across the exact emotion behind your words. there are times i go to respond to a post, even sometimes writing it, and then erase it because i dont think people will understand just from words what i mean. so i guess all im trying to say is that we all know your a hot head(in LOS, you have a hot heart) but you are definitely a good part of this forum, so come back and just kind of remember people sometimes cant see the emotions behind words. 1 more thing, could eb a little more patient with the newbies

Diz you know what i think about what you are doing, i understand exactly why you are doing it, but really you are hurting only yourself . Almost every time i log on here i always see the same names , Dawsey,alf,ij,gez,alibaba etc and yours was almost predominant thats because like me it passed a couple of hours and it was good to have contact with guys you had met and guys who you were going to meet. Basically in withdrawing from posting on the board you are only hurting yourself, although i have not yet met Nicke and Stevem i suspect strongly that losing 1 bm is not going to break there hearts or change what they do. So we need guys like you to point out errors in their judgement because as someone else said they are only human, and i have yet to meet the perfect human. So come on man i think i am speaking for 99% of the regular posters on here please come back and lets have the benefit of your knowledge and charm (?) 555555 again.
As for the football competition my entry for this week is in and i dont see why anyone should stop being involved i n a piece of fun which is there for us all (thats a man who has moved up 17 places in 2 weeks talking) 555555 See you somewhere in patong on November 6th remember i will have the g.f with me so if you bring your girl along we can go to a music bar or something me and you in the same music bar would bring a new meaning to the phrase heavy rock !

Just logged in here at Phuket Airport on my way out and just had a quick read of this thread. (Hopefully I have managed to get my scores in with Diz before the deadline) Had a busy day today getting ready to leave and crying a wee bit!! Well, alot actually.
I'll catch up with it when I get back to whatever 'normality' is but I for one hope Diz stays part of the forum. Have to dash now they are calling the flight.

Sorry fellas, I've eaten all the pies and choc ices, but the bonuses are still available !!  A bit later than I had planned, I am introducing the "Bonus Question" whereby additional points can be gained should you get the question correct or not. There will not be a Bonus question every week, but I am hoping to have one for at least every 2 or 3 weeks. Hopefully this will encourage some of those further fown the table, as there have been some noticeable absentees recently. As well as the 3 that I have highlighted, I get the impression that 2 others have "given up" as well. I think it's a bit too early for that yet, but it's up to the individual I guess. I have also added an entry form for submitting your forecasts for "future dated" weekends, so if you know that you are unable to get to a PC for whatever reason then you can send in your forecasts up to 3 weeks in advance. There is also a facility to send in an answer should there be a Bonus Question on one of those weekends. Details of any questions can be found at the foot of the list of fixtures. When using the "future-dated" entry form, please don't abuse it and use it just to load your entries in advance, it is only really designed to help any of you if you are away on holiday, business etc and think it will difficult to get to a PC and send in your entries. Also, think carefully before you send them in, |
