Australian Test Cricket Fixtures
This thread is mainly in response to a question Inspector Dawes asked me in a thread started by Diz.....seeing that it has been deleted, l have started a new one.
Dawsey....Australia have the 2 tests against the World XI coming up soon....then we host West Indies and Sth Africa this summer.
Next year we head over to Sth Africa.....then to Bangladesh (Whats the point) then we are scheduled to head to Zimbabwe in September.....l hope we have the sense to call that tour off given the disgraceful behaviour of that country's leader.
The we host Engalnd in November 2006 (only 14 months away).....that should be massive......how many backpackers from UK, do you think will come to Oz for this series......thousands l would predict......might even stay in Oz for the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne and the New Year Test in Sydney, and give LOS a miss.

After being humiliated by Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka in yhe coming months, cricket will be relegated again to a minority sport, justifying the fact that we cant see cricket on TV unless we subscribe to sky. But we will always remember the Ashes in '05.

Agree with you here Luke
I can't see England getting anything out of any of those fixtures.
I don't know of any test team that enjoys the visits to Pakistan & India.
We will be lucky to get a win in any test.
Mav, thanks for your reply. It looks like Australia have some tough games coming up,culminating in the Ashes Dec/Jan 06/07.
I bet there will be 0000s of backpackers and supporters making the trip.
Lets hope its as good as this series just finished.

Weather was too cold and prices pretty steep......hopefully the test match will be more competitive.

Hey Mav
My impression of the latest 1day series against ROW is that the touring side were not trying too much. Lara was a disaster,Kallis scored too slowly and Flintoff still looks burnt out.
I too am hoping the test match will be better.
BTW Aussies looked back in the groove again, especially Gilchrist,Katich and Martyn.

Yes Lara 5,0,0......press have labelled these games as "soft".....and only a half decent Test Match will put a positive spin on it. Was thinking of going to Sydney for the match, but l do not think l will bother now.
Australia did sort of get back into some half decent form........but where our our Ashes
