Smile Thai Class Has Never Been So Exciting Before!!!

My translation is this:

Hello. Are there people who can read Thai language on the Forum?

Well, let's see. There's Mikey and me. I'm fairly sure Schmeen can and, perhaps Geespot as well. Any others?

P.S. Very good, Mikey. Your teacher would be proud of you. I signed up for more classes a month ago. Went to the first class. Big surprise!! No boring monk! Sweet young TG who could give any BG on Soi Bangla a run for her money. Khun Pum. OMG!! Sweet, petite Miss Pum. Sweeter than candy, cuter than a kitten. Attendance is up at intermediate Thai class these days. None of the guys are missing class anymore. It's funny, 'cause every one of us, except the Japanese guy, is at least 10 years or 20 years older than her. And she treats us like first graders, since that is the level we are on. She's got us playing silly games for 3 hours each Sunday. I can think of a few games I'd like to play with her on Saturday night . But it's all in good fun and I think we are actually learning more. I am trying harder, 'cause I wanna be teacher's pet!!! Got to sign off now. Homework to do!!!!!

teachers pet

Hi Jaybee,

It would be nice to find a Thai teacher close to where I live but no luck so far. Everything I have learnt so far has just been from books.

As far as being teachers pet, I would be the opposite. I would get things wrong so I could get my a.rse smacked off the teacher

Knowing my luck, it would probably be a male teacher

Adios

Hi there!

I love the vernacular of the Realm so I'll be happy to help out with both translations and Thai teachings when someone needs a hand.

The other posters in this thread got the translation pretty correct already.

I'd hope we could get a discussion going about different aspects of the Thai language.I'm gonna contribute as much as I can!

Cheers.

Wrong assumption there! It's probably derived from and built upon a premise which is flavored by mild paranoid xenophobia of a foreign lingo

OK, here's the play by play:

Schmeen: Hello. I can read and can also write.(in Thai)

M.Thaison to IJ: Hello. I like this place very much, so I will make an effort to come be here and to continue to tune in here. (or to continue to be stationed here)

M.Thaison to Schmeen: Hello. I visit quite a bit, so I will not be* alone.

*substituted "be" for word "dtoodt"(I haven't Thai script), for which I can not find the definition.

Well, that's the best I can do anyway. Even when I get all the words, putting them together is a bit like assembling a jigsaw puzzle for me.

Wink Welcome, Handsome Man!

First off. That's Jonny Boy to you, Mr. Thaison, or Irish Jonny, to be more formal. And Jonny doesn't shout; he happens to be an enthusiastic young man with an ebullient personality. Contrary to the accepted norms of Internet type-language, capital letters do not indicate shouting in IJ's posts, but are merely a reflection of his friendly, outgoing personality and joie de vivre.

Secondly, welcome aboard! It is certainly nice to have a gentleman who is apparently a master of the English language, and perhaps also a master of the Thai written word, as well, or at least well on his way to that high intellectual station. There are a number of BMs with some knowledge of written Thai, and I believe that Mr. Schmeen would be the most distinguished of the group in that regard, so I won't speak for him. But, as for the rest of us, we can use all the help we can get.

Feel free to correct my homework!!! I gave it my best shot, but it is obviousy not easy for me.

Hi there folks!
As you saw last Sunday,I'm through with boxing.
Now I'm gonna make a come-back at my true passion in life.
Not Thai boxing-cuz I don't have stomach for pugilism anymore-but Thai language.
If anyone has questions about Thai,I'll try to help out.
Hopefully we can get a discussion going both in Thai and about Thai.

M.Thaison

I started to learn Thai alphabet long time ago and could read and write some basic words, but since then I forgot it.

Maybe time to make an effort to learn again. Maybe try to study 30 minutes a day.

Hi Nicke,

Good to hear that there are other Thai readers around.
This sentence might help remove your ring-rust and get you back in reading shape.
Give it a try and see if you can translate within 30 minutes.
คุณทำงานกี่ปีถึงมีเงินมาเที่ยว
Post your translation if you wish.
