Cost of Non Immigrant Visa B

I went to the local Thai Embassy and they told me that due to the concul being on holiday it can take up to three weeks for my non immigrant visa B to be ready. I guess its easier and faster to go to Phuket, pick up the documents and do down to Penang. Does it still take 2 days and what is the cost of the visa? Any update would be much appreciated.

Depends.. Going to Penang is possible if all docs are perfect but your only going to get single entries in SE Asia these days.. So you have 90 days to have everything in order for the WP extension (12 months) instead of the old 1 year in and out for 90 days...

Often they want company history of tax payments made thats not possible on new companies so people who have formed new enterprises get caught in a limbo of not enough historical proof to validate the extension..

The days of easy non B multiples on a letter of invite ended late last year.. Better off trying in home country embassy. The nitty gritty is discussed on Thai Visa..

My local Thai Embassy here in Europe told me that they are not permitted to issue multiple entry and that they will only issue single entry ones. They also mentioned a whole list of documents required so it seems as if it would be the same here or in Penang. The only difference seems to be that it takes 3 weeks here and only a few days in Penang. I cant wait to go over to SE Asia so I think I will take my chances in Penang

As I am aware of, Swedish Thai embassy havent issued any one year visas for years, most of the time normal tourist visas or NON-B for 3 months, single entries.

I do think they issue 1 year if you can show work permit, as in Malaysia.

Malaysia only issue single entry for company documents, employment etc. To get one year you need to show your work permit.

200 R, which equates to 2000 Baht. If you have all paperwork and photo's and nothing else needed then it takes two days to get your Non Immigrant B visa.

LivinLOS, would you happen to know the current status of "renewing" a non-imm B (multi). I will search the Thai Visa site, but in the past it seldom has threads that address the "renewal" subject based on my searches (at least on my own particulars), even for people willing to go back to their home country (US for me).

I guess my core question is "Is there any difference on a first non-imm B application vs. a renewal non-imm B application?".

Define renewing ??

If the visa is expiring you either get a new one outside Thailand or (if you satisfy the conditions to get it done) have it extended (12 months for a non imm) in Thailand before it expires.

So not sure what your meaning. Once it runs out its a whole new application.

Ok, so in this case (me, with just a non-imm B multi-entry visa), which expires in June 2007, there will be no "special" treatment if I want one more year to 2008, and that renewals are not any more easier than applying for the first time even if in my home country??...

Just another application then...

Perhaps they application may be looked favorably ?? I dont know.. But it will be just a new application if done outside Thailand.

There is also a 3 year Non Imm B started last year.. Not easy to get I think though.
